I wonder what they do with the "core return". Can they get parts to rebuild that mere mortals don't have access to? Or do they take parts from others to rebuild?

Who was it that sub'd the ac system for the gt? vintage air i think. They might be a source for a condenser since I doubt ford took the time and cost to do a special custom.

Regardless of the vehicle I wait until all the dash lights cycle through their on to off. It's like logging in after a windows reboot.. As far as jumpering in a battery to do the gauge test don't jumper like you were starting a car with a dead battery by connecting the spare to the posts...

Could be battery but replace it. Cheaper to do the battery first than replace gauges. Lots of topics on gauges.

My recollection was that the GT air conditioner was like cooling a meat locker, even in Vegas at 110*. It was way more than was needed for the size of the compartment it was cooling. Don't put any more freon in... You've shown it was refrigerant that was the issue. But you've not stopped...

Most places that evac automatically replace o-rings especially if they're old...

If its leaking I would encourage you to take it to a service place that has a unit that does a full evac, pressure/leak test and recharge. They will most likely replace the o rings at the start. This way you get exactly the correct amount of refrigerant. If they don't find an obvious leak...
