Since I don't know any better I'm going to buy a 2005-6 Ford GT - Sorry for the sarcasm!

You'll have to try it out but the front splitter often scrapes. I had to approach my driveway at an angle to get the left front over the "california curb" and then rest would clear OK. There are a couple of places that make curb steps that soften the approach. They are formed but "hollow" so...

Ford GT MkIV Rides For Charity - Thank you Multimatic!

Dbk, i recall that when they were first announced you were trying to get a mkiv. Did that come to pass? It looked like the Lemans car unleashed from their regs.

When storing for winter -- Start it up or let it sit?

The key to running it is to fully warm it up. That's why a short drive even in winter is best. Just be careful of the tires.

Since I don't know any better I'm going to buy a 2005-6 Ford GT - Sorry for the sarcasm!

.-1 mentions service parts. There are some ordinary wear items that Ford no longer stocks, like trunk struts and other just regular stuff. Other parts are simply not available at all. Some people here and other places have sort of become a small "after market" by making the struts, etc. I...

When storing for winter -- Start it up or let it sit?

Best if you can actually drive it even if it is for just a few miles up to operating temp. That helps circulate trans fluid and helps prevent flat spots on tires. Second choice is to run up to operating temp even if it is still. I did both in Colorado winters... Last choice is to let it sit...

    Fuel pump used during cranking

Did you check the fuses? If a pump is truly down then you could pull the #1 fuse. If it doesn't start it means #2 is also down. If it starts like it did before but doesn't when #2 fuse is pulled, then #1 is broken. There are also relays. As I recall the fuel pump relays are the same as...

LOOKING FOR GAUGE MODULE TO SUIT OUR 2005 GT

I concur that the gauge control module is a second choice over a single gauge. However, if all the gauges are out, along with the odometer, then the module is suspect.

    What is this

Yes galpin did a wide body gt. Bought a few 05-06 and salted them away and did the wide body mods to order... Don't know how many, if any, were actually sold. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galpin_GTR1

    New topics not showing

Something seems to be amiss. The "New Threads" at the top of the bar no longer shows any topics even though the activity icon in the forum list shows topics. All of the forums in the main page list open with "There are no threads in this forum". In fact, this post doesn't show under the...

    A/C Compressor

I became an O-ring sizing expert because of the various fixtures in my swimming pool valves. Every O-ring has an assigned number. The dimensions are fixed. Every #160 is the same size as every other one. The inexact science comes from trying to match the dimensions of an old o-ring and then...

    Wheel Bearing Hub

It's hard to tell in the picture but i don't know if the bolt is shorter or merely has more threads where the other ones have a shoulder.

    Wheel Bearing Hub

Are you referring to the one in the front that has more thread? Both sides, correct? Is it possible this was for a locking hub nut?

    Question on repairs and warranty

You could easily get it back on some parts like headlights if they fail, but like all insurance policies, will you need it... As heavily as some advertise I was tempted to call one to see what they had to say

New Member looking for advice about parts for 05 GT

Just in case you're PO'd at Ford on spare parts for the GT they aren't the only one. A couple of years ago the Dodge Dealer broke the fuel tank on my truck while replacing a fuel pump. It's the oversized 33 gallon tank. None are available from Dodge (even today) and there is no aftermarket...
