Looking to ride in/test drive a ford GT

I agree with everyone. I bought mine based on looks alone, I didn't really care how powerful it was, or how it handled. I thought I'd be ok with a decent level of performance and all the quirks of certain italian supercars. I was completely stunned by its capabilities once I bought it, though...

New Gt Lacking Performance - Any Ideas ?

Yes: A 550HP Ford GT supercar that is so quiet at full 3.5s 0-60 acceleration that you can be whispering to the lady on the passenger seat your undying temporary love. :biggrin To me, that kicks the hell out of the screams of the ferraris. Over 4000 RPM on the Enzo, you wake everyone around...

    Willow Springs

I beg to differ. Having tracked the GT twice on the big track, I'd say that as the weekend driver that I am, the Streets of Willow track would be a load of fun on the GT. The big track is all about cojones, and racing a 550HP monster without a rollcage means that you're a madman or you're going...

Nine GTs out driving - a video

I have to 100% second that. I was shocked that every single color and stripe combo that was there looked excellent. Well, except for the red, but that's just me. :biggrin. Also IMHO the yellow without stripes BEGGED for big fat race numbers to be applied on it. It is beautiful.

    Cracked windscreen.

I'm ditching my daily driver in L.A. so the GT is all I'll have, and I'm damn happy about it! :biggrin

    California Ford GT Owners Registry

    It was awesome. To recap, 11 GTs: 2 yellow (stripes and not) 2 white/blue 1 black/silver 2 blue/white 1 silver/black 1 tungsten/silver 1 red/white and I'm missing one, I guess... Have to go through the picts again.

Enzo cut in two on PCH Feb. 21

I went back through the crash area yesterday, and from the rubber on the side of the road I'm pretty certain that he was going west on PCH (someone can validate?) and went airborne on one of the long bumps on the road. At 162 mph these elevation changes are killers.

246mph with Derek Bell in Porsche at LeMans

BTW, in France I always used to remember the straight of Le Mans as "la ligne droite des Hunaudières". It used to throw me off when they talked here of the Mulsanne Straight.

    Drive safely

It was probably me conjecturing about the dip on the straight. I don't know which way he was going, but the crash site was pretty much at the area of the dip. Maybe he simply caught a loose rock, or got scared of the dip and hit the brakes too hard, so many things can go wrong at 170 mph+. You...

    Enzo crash

I'm not signed up to ferrarichat, but I passed by the scene of the crash at midday that day, on my way to the beach for an epic kitesurfing session. The crash (for those who know) happened on PCH just across from El Matador beach. The road there is a straightaway about a mile long, one of the...

    GT at the Track

Same problem for every car. I have a 99' Mustang Cobra. Drive it with stock tires and you hate life. Put in good stuff such as the Azenis (not even R compound) and it's a totally different car. Same with the latest M3, the stock tires are garbage.

    GT at the Track

Viper, I was at Willow Springs at the test day that EnzoBTR was writing about. The same professional driver drove the Gen 3 viper, Z06 and GT, and the GT consistently beat the other 2. In fact the Viper was far behind the GT and the Z06. I am pretty confident that a stock GT will whip a stock...

    Ford GT vs. Ferrari 360

I'm not American either, and I wasn't born when the GT40 won the races, so I have no concept of "this was the legend of my youth". However, that car to me was the purest line in any car ever made. So many cars copied that line and never equalled it. So one day I decided that this was the car I...

    Sunday drive in Southern California

Where were you guys? The usual Mulholland to PCH? Can't wait to get back to LALAland and share in the fun. Neilda, you should take a trip to LA one of these days. You have to reassure yourself that our cars there are the same as yours in the UK. It's important for your health. Really. :cheers

    Another one bites the dust

Very good analogy, Neil. I'm all for a RIP section, if only to try very hard not to end up in it!

GR-1 sold to customer in Saudi Arabia?

I'm going to ship mine to Beirut as soon as the winter rains and snow subside. No point in turning the GT into an off-road jeep. Then I'm going to do some nice mountain driving. I'll never be able to reach 1of19 speeds though, in such confined spaces. :biggrin

which bikini goes better with the colors of your GT??

His math is weak! You need 1+3=4, one for each corner. :biggrin
