Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

I am really thick-skinned when it comes to a manufacturer questioning my abilities because I have to put myself in your shoes. You have no idea of who you are dealing with and what their experience level is. Let me just say that of all the mods I have performed on my GT, this was by far the...

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

Shadowman pretty much hit the nail on the head here with this excellent response. Steve

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

My pleasure! Based on what I saw, the stock filters should help you out. I have heard from a number of forum members with the K&N's and some reported idle problems and others didn't. One thing for sure is that the stock filters out flow the K&N's. I would highly suggest putting an A/F...

DynoJet Air/Fuel Wide Band Commander installation

Great idea! I will investigate it a little further. I use the rearmost O2 position. The PCM doesn't throw any error codes and since I now have the Wideband Commander installed, I am able to permanently leave the O2 sensor in that position. I have a similar routine to dial in the STFTs as you...

question for those with a Whipple SC

That is a great question. I have been asked that before and believe it or not, I do not know. Since I am recording the boost on my DynoJet, I never bother to look at the gauge. During the run, I am totally focused on the computer screen displaying the RPM, A/F, Boost, etc. I have to make a...

question for those with a Whipple SC

I had the intake duct support prior to the Whipple install. I would consider it a must have. I am using a MAFia unit. Whipple recommends a NGK TR6 spark plug. Rear visibility is not affected at all. Steve

DynoJet Air/Fuel Wide Band Commander installation

James, Thanks for taking the time to post this info. I have the service manual that gives all the pin outs, etc. but am a little apprehensive about splicing into the wiring harness on this car in order to enable the TPS and RPM. I can't stand the way those plastic splice units look. I am...

    Whipple installation, first drive.

What diameter pulley did you end up going with? I am getting appx. the same boost that you show with a 3.50" pulley. It's hard to be disappointed with the Whipple. They have a product that flat delivers. It appears as though Whipples are starting to make their way on to quite a few GT's on...

DynoJet Air/Fuel Wide Band Commander installation

Here is the pic of the gauge location: I have placed it in front of the battery voltage gauge since I consider this the least valuable gauge on the dash. When driving, this gauge is easily in full view. Now, all I have to do is finish up the wiring... Steve

DynoJet Air/Fuel Wide Band Commander installation

Thanks! I do have an Innovate Motorsports box like you describe. The thing I love about the DynoJet Wide Band Commander is the fact that they use an analog gauge to display the A/F. I prefer this over a digital display any day of the week. The big thing for me is to have it located where I...

DynoJet Air/Fuel Wide Band Commander installation

I am right in the middle of installing a DynoJet Air/Fuel Wide Band Commander in the Ford GT. I have these in 3 of my other cars and love them. I am wondering if anyone out there has installed one in their Ford GT yet? If so, I would like to see where you installed the gauge. With the...

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

Assuming that the cams are the problem, it will be interesting to see how many people elect to have them replaced since this will require pulling the motor. Steve

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

Now that would be an interesting test. But like I said, someone else will have to do it. Now if there are some measureable documentable gains with either the Boost-a-Spark or the WeaponX, I'm there. Hope you are feeling better. You sounded terrible on the phone. This has been a learning...

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

Thanks for the info. I have been monitoring those threads since they were posted and decided to go with the GMS based on availability and Tony's recommendation. I have no regrets about giving the GMS units a try but I am going to let someone else try the WeaponX units. Based on my tests...

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

My pleasure. I would be ecstatic if the car runs anywhere near 145 in the quarter. The problem will be in making a perfect run right off the bat since anything quicker than 11.99 will require a roll bar. My experience is that tracks up here have a zero tolerance policy on the 11.99 rule. You...

Disappointing DynoJet test: GMS coil packs, K&N filters

I have been anxious to test the Granatelli Motor Sports 4V coil pack system since Tony @ HP Performance first told me about them a month or so ago. On paper and on their website video they looked real good. Unfortunately for me, the results were mediocre. I have displayed 8 runs on this graph...

    Whipple 3.25" pulley numbers: 807.45 rwhp, 764.25 rwtq !!

It truly is my pleasure. There is more to come this weekend (hopefully) as I begin testing the new GMS Coil-On-Plug Connector Kits w/Coil Packs. Happy Holidays to you as well, Steve

    Whipple 3.25" pulley numbers: 807.45 rwhp, 764.25 rwtq !!

It was actually a little more than I was expecting. This car/motor continues to impress. The file is on it's way this morning. Thanks!! You are definitely driven!! That 1100 rwhp run will be exciting and yet another big accomplishment. I will investigate the plug situation a little more. We...
