I had a chance to buy one of these about a year ago, I ultimately passed because none of my Porsche friends had heard of it, and they are FANATICS. I think its a very cool car, but is it a "Porsche" or a "Schuppan"?? Not being able to answer that question made it tough to spend the money on it.

Anyone have a dealership/tech near Austin they'd recommend? Im not confident in the guys down the street, they said they havent serviced many GT's. Thanks, Cavan

I hear ya, but I think $2mm is all hype and bragging rights for the short term. There are too many examples of new "instant collector" cars coming out recently, all with production around 1000 units. They are 2-3x MSRP for a year, as inventory grows and the hype dies, the asking prices drop...

sigh...I dont know whether to make jokes about the "A" in Type A, or just let it be and let the thread die...

I dont know if its true, but my mechanic said its from lack of use, something about the oil in the gauges gets "sticky" or something like that. Hadnt heard that, he owns a FGT fwiw and services a bunch. He just replaced my fuel gauge.

Brian, I'll answer it for him. He's waiting on his track pack car that he spec'd, a deal popped up on this one out of state at a dealer, so he bought this one to have until his arrived. I think it was a good deal and he felt limited risk to buy this one and sell later. Saw this car at COTA...

I am no expert, but in my limited experience I think you are correct to not mod the exhaust on turbo cars. On one of my cars, if you change the exhaust the turbo characteristic changes dramatically, often for the worse with early overboost problems. If you do decide to swap to straight pipes or...
