05 GT without factory recalls performed

But if you were not the owner at the time, they would most likely not tell you.....I have run into this several times looking at cars with poor documentation history.

05 GT without factory recalls performed

Well because this isn't a recall, doesn't seem like Ford would do them for free nor bother to keep track like they are required to do with the airbags. I know my car's previous owner bought the bolts and installed them himself, so the dealer would have no idea.

How bad can this be ?

Well it won't be original again. Some of these parts are out there, you might try Dan (@B.M.F. ). I would recommend fixing whatever you can though. No idea on costs....except not cheap. Pictures would help people estimate this though....

Since I don't know any better I'm going to buy a 2005-6 Ford GT - Sorry for the sarcasm!

Mileage is only important in budgeting....the higher the budget, the fewer miles one can expect. My car has 33,000 miles and a couple of stories.....and is probably only worth around $270k. But I didn't want a car to look at and rub with diapers, I wanted a highly modified one I could drive...

    Ford GT-esque Vehicles recommendation

Of course, different strokes and all that....but the title of the thread is finding a Ford GT-esque car, a torque monster. A high revving, low torque delicate car in an automatic is the opposite of that. And I would speculate that the track special cars you call out (though have no idea what...

Should've put the Ford GT on top bro

Yep, nothing special about the cars on top. On a practical basis, the FGT had a dedicated spot probably because it gets the most use.

Which is a place 99% of Ferraris never go.....so why not buy a better road car?

    Ford GT-esque Vehicles recommendation

I was not a fan of the regular 458 driving experience as the lack of torque was very disappointing (the anti-FGT) and I’ve heard the Speciale has the same anemic torque figures

    Ford GT-esque Vehicles recommendation

One sold over the weekend for like $1.6M plus fees…..which I thought was about $1M less than I remember. I would much rather have that than a F40 at half the price. Still, the thought of buying a CGT would be such a holy grail car. If I sell both cars and clean out my 401k account I can just...

    Ford GT-esque Vehicles recommendation

What pressure did you take it down to? I generally put in 35 psi because it starts looking like a flat tire below that (or a Jeep Wrangler rock crawling). Weird someone would say they (FGT, GT) they have a similar engine configuration….they couldn’t be much more dissimilar. Well the CGT is...

    Ford GT-esque Vehicles recommendation

You can see I own a Diablo Roadster....I would sell the FGT before I part with it. Has everything you could want, convertible with a roaring V-12 inches from your head, gated manual transmission, solid rarity (less than 500 total units), insane road presence the FGT doesn't match. Has cachet...

    Side mirror housing (Passenger side)

You couldn’t repair it? Reach out to Dan in Mi, Shelby, or the guy Ernie who rebuilds a lot of cars….think he is in Conn Or maybe Rich Brooks

    Takata Airbag Notice - 2024

Good notice for new owners, and even I dove into my paperwork to confirm the inflators had been changed (2018). Also a good reminder for the diff bolt change out for new owners

Getting a PPF tmr. What cautions should Technician take?

I have been told this as recently as May 2023. The installer advised me not to, nobody is happy with the results after a year or two.

Determining Agree Value on Higher Mileage '05 FGT

Will they accept a 3rd party appraisal? If not, I would change companies. You are correct, rebuilt salvages are pretty close to $300k these days. One sold on BAT for $259k, and would have been higher had the owner represented it better (some people aren’t good sellers).
