Is the hope for manuals in the future?

My next daily driver will be a Honda Civic Type R...performance 6 speed manual. Not available with an automatic.

Is the hope for manuals in the future?

Apparently a very different story in Europe. 80% manual. https://blog.getmyparking.com/2020/01/20/why-does-europe-prefer-manual-cars-over-automatic-ones/

    Airbag recall question

I had mine done a couple of years ago at a dealership and they "forgot" to record the number of the replacement, so I still keep getting recall notices from Ford. I recommend taking a picture of the unit with serial number showing before install, and another once in place.

    Claiming Longest trip

My claim was at 1557 miles, you may have the title depending on the ''about'' 1500. You will have to make the trip again to get an exact mileage!

UPDATE Post 26 - Chance Motorsports Encounter Makes a New Friend

The old saying is that ''no news is good news''. Very much hope that is the case and Abby and her family are doing well.

UPDATE Post 26 - Chance Motorsports Encounter Makes a New Friend

I hope Abby continues to hang in there. I'm also hoping the previous owner gets a visit from the SPCA, Arizona Humane society, or even a State Trooper. The new house bill2671 lists animal cruelty as a class 5 felony, and comes with jail time.

    Claiming Longest trip

Possibilities for a book....anyone who wants can contribute a story. We'd need a compiler, and it would have to include the story of Chip Beck going to pick up his 05/06. That one still breaks me up.

    Claiming Longest trip

When I started this thread, I was hoping it would bring out some of the stories of more adventurous long road trips. I'm enjoying these. I did one trip of 3400+ miles, Calgary to Mesa AZ, but that was over 6 days with a number of fun detours and points of interest stops, overnight hotels, etc...

    Claiming Longest trip

Raptor don't count. Chip could do farther / faster in his plane, but we're talking ''in the GT'' here.

Serious question for guys who actually drive these cars a lot

Centerpunch, if you are going to be doing some longer road trips a consideration is the exhaust...the stock is a quiet purr until you get your foot into it. Some of the aftermarket are great for a roar around the track, but can be a brutal headache maker on a longer trip. Something to consider.

    Ford vs Ferrari movie

    Claiming Longest trip

I was snowbirding in Arizona, had a direct flight to return to Canada from Phoenix June 2 2020. They cancelled the flight. Air Canada sucks. Other options were explored, but it came down to driving the Ford back. I've made this trip several times before, but always had the chance to make the...

UPDATE Post 26 - Chance Motorsports Encounter Makes a New Friend

Wow. 5 mile walk through the desert in 100F heat, water all used up, only a helmet to keep the sun off your delicate scalp. Basically your life at risk. We don't hear a lot of true heroism stories these days. Thank you for an inspiring uplift. Well done sir.

Advice needed: How to confirm that a GT is the right car?

You mentioned "positive response, but it is an enthusiast forum". I've done a number of car shows, and I think all the owners who do have heard the comments: ''my favorite car of all time'', ''my dream car'', ''if I could have any car...'' And over the years (I bought new) repeated many...

Serious question for guys who actually drive these cars a lot

I usually use soft side standard airplane carry-on size suitcases, (since sometimes flying is involved), one behind each seat. Don't pack anything breakable and you can use some pressure to push the seat back. The size is determined by the airlines, and because of that there is extra space...

Serious question for guys who actually drive these cars a lot

The show in Canmore is usually mid August, so maybe things will have opened up by then. We could do a side by side.

Serious question for guys who actually drive these cars a lot

Canadian returning to Canada. Been down since the middle of January, but now my travel medical insurance is due to run out.
