Keep in mind what a race team uses has no bearing on what your everyday driver should use. They change to oil after each event and they have very consistent parameters that the engine operates under. I would submit that oil requirements for your street car are much harder to meet.

So funny to see this post. I was just about to post the same question. I removed the rubber plugs to check for tightness and found several of the screws are missing. The trim pieces don't seem loose so I was contemplating just leaving the screws out.

Update: My 2004 T6 that I reported on above just suffered a sudden catastrophic tranny failure. Seems the tranny cooler is integral to the coolant radiator and a leak occured between the two with water getting into the tranny. I was initially told by the dealer that it would cost $6500...
