Use of Gearshift Lever Aligner Tool

I recently purchased a clutch aligner on ebay and it came with the OTC 308-602 tool. Checked the service manual, my local Ford dealer and the internet on how to use this tool, but no luck. Could someone tell me how to use this device or were I could find instructions. Thanks for the help.

    Cam Chain Tensioner

I have ordered new ones from Ford, do you recommend a modification to the Ford tensioners or an aftermarket upgrade?

    Cam Chain Tensioner

They have a steel piston and cylinder with a plastic case.

    Cam Chain Tensioner

I do have the manual. It does not cover the actual operation of the tensioner. One tensioner I could push in by hand, the other seemed like it was locked solid at first then eventually would compress by hand (after many tries). There is no visible damage to the sealing bead, however not sure...

    Cam Chain Tensioner

Looking for information on the hydraulic cam chain tensioner actuator. I removed the two from my engine yesterday (to remove the heads) and noticed that one side could easily be pushed in and out by hand against the internal spring but the other would not. It was solid, as I played with it for...

Battery finally went - what to replace with?

The Odyssey battery I purchased is a 75/86-PC1230 and it fits. The 25-PC1400 was too tall for my car. Not sure if it makes any difference, but these are Canadian numbers.

    Sloppy C/V joints

I too have concerns about my CV joints (leaking), so I look forward to the upcoming posts on this subject. You are obviously someone who is up to the challenge of a "non serviceable part".

    CV Joint Leaking

Ultrasportracing, I also tried and got the same result. It would be a very good price. Did you use the axle that had leaked some?

    CV Joint Leaking

It would appear that the grease has separated to some degree and the lighter portion is leaking out. If these joints can not be easily taken apart I will probably hope that this change is not too important and reassemble.

    CV Joint Leaking

I actually pulled out the axle halfshafts. The transaxle is not leaking. The oil is coming out of the CV joint, it leaves a spot on the floor were it is sitting. The CV metal cap looks fine (no visible damage). It seems that once the bolts that hold the axle to the transaxle flange were removed...

    CV Joint Leaking

I separated the halfshafts from the transaxle flange and noticed that while apart the CV joint(closest to the transaxle) leaked out some oil. Is it possible to disassemble and repack these joints? If so what grease should be used. The LH only leaked a few drops but the RH has created a mess...

    Canadian GT

I just recently removed the bumper spacer from my car and it took about an hour. Take out 8 bolts to remove the bumper then 8 bolts to remove the spacer then reinstall the bumper.

    Canadian GT

From what I understand there is the rear bumper extension and foam behind front bumper to meet Cdn crash standards, some gauges have symbols instead of writing (to avoid French/English rules), daytime running lights and no optional stereo. Also some of the decals are Canadian. Basically the same...

    GT Jacket

RCO Enterprises (rcoent.ca/estore) has 1 of microfibre fleece lined Ford GT jacket for sale if anyone is looking for one. Unfortunately it is XXL. I have no connection to this company, only passing on info.

    Straight Chassis

Yes the 3 rods are sandwiched between the sheet metal (that has the clip nut) and the chin spoiler. I enjoy the pictures, incredible amount of work.

    Dash Remaoval

Thanks for the help. The unbolting of the brake pedals and booster is what was missing (not in service manual). After the removal of the center support (radio console) are there any mounting points in the center section?

    Dash Remaoval

I am attempting to remove the complete dash assembly and could use any help that someone who has done this could offer. Followed the service manual, but as I look at the dash there still seems to be more to do than the manual states. Above where the steering column goes there is an extruded...

    Oh great, another gauge failure.

Ford's warranty on parts is 12 months/20,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first (from the back of a parts invoice).

    Oh great, another gauge failure.

I completely agree with the well thought out response of Shelby Smith. I have only recently purchased this amazing car and still find it hard to believe that Ford actually manufactured it. I replaced all the gauges with Speedhut units because of the labour involved in replacing individual...

    headlamp bulb replacement

I recently replaced the headlight and signal light bulbs on my car and it is quite simple. This is as long as you are only changing the bulbs. As described in the headlight tech thread if you lose low beam the headlight assembly would have to be replaced. I removed the inner fender liners to...
