Not sure. Cutting the bottom out was the bigger win I’m pretty sure. But both significant.

Final project on my NFGT is complete and I'm ready to take her on the track! Just got my car back from Canepa in Scotts Valley CA, where they modified my seat base to give me dramatically more headroom. Maybe as much as 3". I am so happy with the change. I fit properly for the first time and...

Got the completed project back. It’s great! Will write more and take photos later today.

I was able to buy the seat base from Ford without having to purchase the seat back. Cost me $2,799. Kevin Koshkarian at Pat Miliken Ford took care of everything and was awesome as always.

I've got the guys at Canepa cutting up my seat and re-upholstering it to look OEM. To get as much room as possible actually cutting a hole in the carbon fiber of the OEM base so (minimal) cushioning and alcantera will be resting directly on seat tub. Keeping the carbon fiber frame everywhere...

Step four. No step four. All done.

Step three. Two 13mm bolts at back of seat. Was able to access by angling seat back forward and accessing from behind the seat.

Hmm... now it looks like I might need to remove seat back to get to bolts at the back of the seat base... investigating.

Step two. Two 13mm bolts easily visible and accessed after storage compartment comes off

Step one complete. Two T10 torx bolts to remove front storage bin. Bottom of compartment velcro’d to the floor.

Think I figured it out. Have to remove the little storage area first.... Will report back with details for the next person who wants to try this.
