Just got back from C&C at M1 concourse. Great showing of GT's, including three customer and one Ford Marketing 2017's. Break in completed just as I got home:

A 2017 Ford GT to cruise on normal roads.

My perspective: I’ve driven the car a little over 400 street miles now. It’s interesting and a lot of fun to read all the reviews (thanks to Dave!) having the context and good fortune of driving my own car. First off, it is definitely comfortable on the street. When you drive it, can you...

    Reflections after 6 weeks

I’ve been fortunate enough to have the new GT for exactly six weeks now, and am reflecting on how great this car really is. Both my kids came home for delivery, and the Ford team spent about 2 hours going thru the features and delivery process. There’s a lot to absorb given all the technology...

2011 Ford GT Rally . Miller Motorsports Park. Orientation Laps

It's not in a Ford GT, but here's my qualification lap from a race weekend 2 years ago in one of the FR Boss race cars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4keNEu2wwo&feature=youtu.be

The backstory on the video is that when the car was delivered, I promised my dealer a ride in the car. He followed us back to the dealership and the dealer principal came out so I showed him some of the features. None of us knew that his video was running....

    Track Mode

No -- I think it will be great on track. At real slow speeds (10-20mph) in 1st or 2nd with 2-3" bumps is a different proposition to more rapid corner exit (especially with a harness on)... One of the 270* exit ramps today in track mode was bumpy and I had no issue with throttle modulation at...

    Track Mode

Good question -- I didn't try that, but referring to the manual it says that front lift is not available in either Track or V-max modes (makes sense as the coil springs are out of the loop in those modes). Also it says that Trans and Turbo calibration are the same in Sport and Track Modes --...

    Track Mode

Went to VIR for 2 days, so didn’t get to put any more miles on the car until today. Interestingly the track event was shared with the Ferrari CCR race series. I’ve always admired the 458/88 styling, but I must say the GT just blows it away – there’s not a bad angle on this car, every way you...

Having seen the underbody. I will likely get it wrapped. However, the vulnerable parts are already wrapped -- Underside of the doors behind the front wheels, and the Diffuser from the 2nd vertical vane out behind the rear wheels (apologies for the out of focus photo):

More shots of the Rear underbody. These are the left and right rear air intakes. Note the Aluminum lifting point on the RHS shot and the fuel filler overfill on the LHS. Fantastic attention to detail!

Passed the 240 mile mark today -- over 40% of Break-in complete. This thing is so much fun it should not be legal. Both the kids were home for Easter and had rides -- an experience they'll not forget. Also got it up on the lift and took some photos (to follow) of the underneath -- amazing, CF...

There's a fair heat load -- the near horizontal windshield and flat, black IP, and slanted sides of the door windows capture a lot of solar energy on sunny days, plus if your driving towards the sun your arms and legs are in the sun too, and of course you're sitting right in front of the engine...

The rear of the cushion is pretty thin -- my guess is 3/4" - 1" when compressed. Headliner removal may get another 1/4"-1/2", but a gurney bubble isn't likely an option with the carbon tub:
