Faster At Le Mans: Race Car or Street Car?

Love to see it. But no way the street car is faster with the weight and downforce advantage of the race car. I also think the race car probably can package wider tires -- less steering lock required up front.

    Passenger Leg Room

The New GT has a passenger footrest, that limits leg room for tall passengers. It's easy to remove, increases leg room by approx 12" -- and reduces weight by 2.5 lbs :wink There is a flat Carbon Fiber Panel behind it that provides access to a fuse box. I covered that panel to avoid scratches...

    Track Time

Ordered 2 of these to meet sound and allow selection of Track mode on the GT350R: http://www.grimmspeed.com/exhaust-valve-defeat-module/ Also weighed the GT: 3,398 lbs with the Alloy Track wheels and a full tank of gas. That would translate to 3,379 lbs with the CF Wheels back on the car...

    Track Time

To pass sound in the R at 92dB you have to disconnect the valves (one pigtail each side) The valves then stay closed at WOT, the downside is you cannot select Track mode, only Sport Damper and Steering settings, and obviously you're down on power. But at least you can run 92dB tracks at WOT....

    Track Time

My guess is it will pass 92dB but not 90dB. My GT350R failed 92dB, registering 94-95dB depending on track location at Mont Tremblant. With the exhaust valves open, the R is noisier externally than the New GT. With the valves closed it's closer and the R passed 92dB sound with valves closed.

    Track Time

Likely 31-33psi. PSC2's on the 350R like 36-38 for best performance. Looking at the data after the event, My best times in the GT were early each session when pressures were 32-34.

    Track Time

Yes, Took my son for a ride in the 2nd session. I use the RAM mounts -- never had an issue on any of my Track cars. Used a second one on the bulkhead glass for the interior camera and a third for the AIM data display on the front windshield.

    Track Time

Just washed the car after it's first Track event. Most vulnerable areas for track debris and Tire marks, in order: 1) Air duct in lower door behind Front Wheels 2) Wheel Arch/Fender forward of Rear Wheel 3) Nose All of these are wrapped, but will likely add Track tape for Utah.
