    Should I worry?

Costs can escalate quickly on cars kept like this and I agree will need paint correction, the lack of maintenance which is obvious is a major issue on a 14 year old car, pass unless it’s a deal over 50k below normal price

    HELP! Car locking itself...any ideas?

Yeah I replaced my OEM Optima with a Sears Diehard about 7 years ago. I keep it on a full charger and it’s been ok. With Sears going out of business I guess you can’t get it anymore.

    CV Joint Leaking

Dragan at Autonation in Mobile replaced the right CV joint, but the kit also has the left so I have those parts too. He replaced the axle bolts again too. Cost $2400.

    Gauge Failure Prevention

I dunno, it’s hard for me to believe that the intermittent and hard gauge failures aren’t somehow related. I’ve never had either problem on any other vehicle I’ve owned in the last 45 years, no matter how shitty they were.

    Gauge Failure Prevention

Then how come I don't have intermittent gauge failures any more? The tach and fuel gauge never worked if it sat more than a week, fortunately they would work once I stopped and restarted the engine. That shit doesn't happen now, they always work.

    Gauge Failure Prevention

Boys! Boys! All I was posting was that I haven't had any intermittent gauge failures since I put a smart charger on the DieHard battery. I got rid of the Optima long ago.... But you know my gauges might fail today...

    Gauge Failure Prevention

Well so far the smart charger seems to be working for me. BTW ditch those original batteries, they are 11 years old and I still think weak batteries exacerbate this problem.

How come I don't see FGTs anymore on the street?

I live in a small town in Mississippi....I have a neighbor with a 2006 GT just like mine, not 500 yards from me. I have another friend with one in Gulfport with a modded twin turbo GT...so we are scattered around. I just got in from driving mine, 21,000 miles and no issues. BTW, you have one...

    Gauge Failure Prevention

This may have already been posted, but I'll be Captain Obvious here. With us long time owners we have seen through the years multiple instrument gauge failures resulting in costly and time consuming issues in replacing them. I had times when the tach and fuel gauges would not initially work...

Original owners, how many havenot had a/c issues?

The leak in the AC compressor due to dried rubber rings is a real problem for those cars that sit a lot. I actually drive mine (over 20,000 miles) and still it leaked while under warranty. I got it replaced with 1 week left on the warranty, no issues in the years since, but I try to drive it at...

    Bridgestones...help

I doubt it is available in the rear size. The Bridgestone that was OEM for Ferrari Enzo was only other tire on the market that happened to fit our rear rims.
