2006 sold at Russo & Steele

Update: The Purple M12 sold, locally owned now. Sold for $85,000. The W8 DID NOT sell. It was bid up to $565,000 before if fizzled out. It did not meet reserve. The owner did not want to sell it, but set the reserve at a value he wouldn't feel bad parting ways over. It is among the nicest...

    Detroit Autoshow visited

I went Saturday as part of the fun of the event are the large crowds, getting behind the ropes to speak with the factory (or sometimes dealer) representatives (sometimes throwing them a curve ball), and spending the day/ evening in Detroit. I don't mind driving in obtuse weather with some knobby...

2006 sold at Russo & Steele

Daniel, Definitely not a car for everybody. There are some angles where the car looks like a shark, others it looks more like a countach. I'm not a fan of the rear styling on the W8's myself. I've not seen any purple Gallardo's myself, but G's do look pretty good. (Isaac BTW ;) )

2006 sold at Russo & Steele

M12's are very different from the W8's in a value perspective, or at least a materials/ build perspective. They were essentially built by two different companies entirely. Some people are Vector lovers of anything Vector, and others are particular to the V8 TT Vector's only. I fit in that group...

Thought I'd never hear this: Automakers asking for higher gas tax

http://www.reuters.com/article/vcCandidateFeed2/idUSTRE50B1D620090112 thankfully he's not the CEO of Ford right now... but statements like these really don't help the company IMO.

VW accuses Lambo O.C of $12 million theft

posted by Jim Glickenhaus on fchat "It is my pleasure to be able to offer a series of brand new 2008 Lamborghini Gallardos and Murcielagos. All the vehicles are owned by one principle, who has made it possible for me to avail them to you at less-than-wholesale. These are bona-fide, brand new...

Thought I'd never hear this: Automakers asking for higher gas tax

http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2009-01-12-gas-tax-automakers-small-car-sales_N.htm It's a sign, and perhaps a result of the bailout; forcing Detroit to make cars that people don't feel bound to buy... further deepening a looming bankruptcy...

Bad News if you own a GTR

Consider what you are getting for the extra 90g's... larger nicer looking wheels (read, likely more weight) Carbon discs Carbon fibre bits here and there tuned up boost. I would have hoped for a more robust transmission more exotic valve train less weight.

    First jet-powered flying man

I made a call earlier, and turns out I was wrong. It was a larger turbine. At least two models were made; a pure demonstrator, and an armored demonstrator. Both worked well. There was a platform which the operator was; so it was much larger than the European's device. It was also capable of VTOL...

    First jet-powered flying man

Specifics? I believe it was powered by a few nerf football sized turbines with some amount of exotic carbon impellar weave. I don't know if testing went as far as our swiss compadre in the video or not.

    First jet-powered flying man

About 25 years ago, a local aerospace company experimented with individual turbine powered apparatus... with success. It was deemed that there wasn't enough demand for military uses. It would be pretty fun :)
