    Excess gear whine from transaxle

2 days ago my 2200 mile '06 started making a new noise I need to figure out asap - booked for local track day this Friday, then Rally in 2 weeks. The noise is rotational and wheel speed dependent, not rpm. Easiest to hear around 45 - 55 mph. The tone of the whining/whirring noise seems similar...

    Michelin

I've been very happy with new Bridgestones on my pulley/tune car. I had considered Hoosier R compounds, out of concern that maybe the torque would be enough to spin the Bridgestones in low gears. Not the case, hooks great and all handling and NVH factors are very much to my satisfaction.

Just wondering about any broad outlines - Is the Motorsports Park one day, or two? Which day? Any other particular event scheduled?

Rally 12 Driving from TX to Utah

I am duly impressed with the group's enthusiasm for long drives! I'm in south metro Denver. I need to figure out if I take a little bite out of the drive Tues evening, or do it all with a very early start Wed. Also whether to take the faster more wide open I-80 across WY or the more...

Rally 12 Track Day Tip #1

Time to take action on changing my brake/clutch fluids. Paging through both shop and owners manuals, I still haven't found the capacities for either of these systems listed. How much should I buy, also accounting for loss/waste in doing the change? And a second rally-related Q: I've heard of...

Pics of my 2005 Ford GT after color paint correction and ceramic coating...

There is only one shop in AZ certified for CQuartz finest reserve application. Although I have no familiarity with the shop, they have to be highly trained to carry the product. http://www.windowsandwheels.com/why-cquartz.html

Rally 12 Track Day Tip #1

I am definitely your target audience - thank you so much! Receipts indicate my car's brake fluid was changed just 400 miles ago, but that was about 2.5 years ago. I had been thinking that was fresh enough, until this very informative post. Indy I eagerly await any future chapters!

    Denver Service

I like seeing Denver tips - I am long overdue for visiting the Shelby Collection. The only Siil-Terhar is in Broomfield. There is a Medved dealer in Castle Rock, otherwise no Ford dealers in the Parker region. I found a post by an owner/ user here cammerboss that says he owns repair shops in...

    New "Ceramic" finish protection

I understand that both CQuartz and Opticoat sell one line of coating for consumer DIY, and another line for installers only. The distributers/installers will sell you the consumer products directly without install. Or here is a link to an example on Amazon...

    New "Ceramic" finish protection

I am just psyched about how well all these new coatings work, and am glad to hear you are planning on trying one. I did not mean to come across like I want to "make a case" for any product, rather just for CODetail being a good shop.

    New "Ceramic" finish protection

yeah I bet it's pretty easy to just read the labels and "DIY" your paint correction and ceramic coating. lol.

    New "Ceramic" finish protection

I'd like to suggest you air your thoughts with Steve at CODetail and let him discuss what you get for your $. Ask him how much of his business is fixing the job that people already had done elsewhere that was "a better deal". I have found him to be of the highest caliber of auto professional...
