Talked to Whipple about a blower for the Raptor and asked about the CF air inlet for the GT. They said that their is a delay getting the silicone hose from a vendor but should be in any day.
Great seeing Ed and Cannibl.
Pretty amazing how the GT still garners so much attention sitting still even though it's 5-6 years old. Start Ed's up and it becomes the center of attention!
Enjoyed the drive and the company! Larry, bring that beast out here again as their is still plenty to see, more coast or in the spring/summer/fall the mountains. We have to get you back out of the grid of Nebraska roads!
From half shaft bolts to swapping transaxles Shadowman has always been there for me. On the phone with his "I'll walk you through it, it's no big deal" to "I'll be there in an hour and a half" when it was a big deal! I can honestly say without his help and friendship I wouldn't have half the...
What a great time! Lorenzos car sounds truly wicked and was the cleanest driven GT I have ever seen! The combination of motor and traction control Shadowman cooked up for both Ed and Lorenzos cars was amazing to watch on the damp roads. I can’t begin to count the number of times I had the rear...
It's real, Bob Munden is crazy fast! He can be seen on the show Impossible Shots doing things besides quickdraw. Jerry Mickulek is also incredibly fast with a wheel gun.
It was depending on the engine an allison or RR box that spun the airplanes propeller just change the internals to get the proper ratio for a boat propeller. Once the motor fired the prop turned no neutral, you were on your way. Also most of the old u-boats had no water pumps just a raw water...
They ran a spur reduction gear that was driven by a pinion gear that had a flexible coupler driven by the crankshaft. Inside of the gear reduction box was also a propeller governor and an oil pump.
The date is Dec 4-5th.
Place; Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows Ca.
Willows is about 90 miles on I-5 north of Sacramento, the track is located about seven miles west of Willows on hwy 162.
I would like to be able to switch it from car to car at times, the pass throughs would prevent that if I use the front boot. Unless I can get some kind of bulkhead adapter...I'm stuck with the box in the passenger compartment.
Now I have a better understanding, especially how the new track pack GT 500 can look so good! I just couldn't understand how the LS went so far astray. I don't pretend to know the inner-workings of the motor co., SVT or Ford Racing, thanks for the enlightenment.
Couldn't agree more! I'm a nobody as far as car design and styling goes; Mechanically I get it and love the Laguna Seca but aesthetically it is as you said a "disaster". I'm sure others here (DBK) have much more knowledge than I on how or whom signed off on the exterior and why they ever thought...
