    Happy Birthday to Shadowman!!!

Once again I seem to have taken the long way, gone by the book, before checking the forum and calling for advice. This time it was to access those RCA plugs on the back of the radio. Of course, I followed the book for radio removal and had the sub woofer and cover out, the center console out...

    Pete s.....got the message

Joey, many on this forum have been there to help when needed, and that is great. I have tried to do the same when I could as well; though may regret selling and sending to Alaska my "original" early '05 front grille screen, NOT! . Sending a PM with the number. Pete S.

Failed oil pump pulley...the sad saga of

In case a few missed the tool I used for getting the Drive Belt Cover screws on and off after breaking them loose; here it is again, and I think the Snap On Truck continues to sell them: http://1fordgt.com/2011/Ford_gt/February/3BeltChange/0001.jpg Initially, I tried taking the inside cover...

The Ford GT Hardcover book is here!!!!!

Great Book! Joey and Marcie. Joey, it was great speaking with you yesterday, the book(s) are fantastic, and though I requested nothing when sending in the small fee, I was impressed to see the serial numbers of the books I received. I feel the need to purchase one of the Carlise books as...

    Tranny fluid

5 with the cooler, I remove the speedometer sensor connection and add the fluid there, with a nice section of clear tubing run from above the tire with the clamshell open.

It is crazy here in Richmond...

As a transplant a state away, or commonwealth next to a state, they are about the closest team still going, and you gotta route for someone. Pete S.

    Happy B-Day Mr. Shadowman

Bill, A day or so late, as always, but Happy Birthday. ( If consensus were the key here . . . . ) Pete S.

GT Guy's coming to Maryland IV

I had an all too short but fantastic visit to John B.'s house earlier today, and as always, was well fed with food and stories of Ford GT folklore. Rich and Denis are still there rolling the cars in and out with professionalism and ease. I thank our host John for making this event happen year...

    Transaxle fluid question.

This link should show you a drain plug and above it the filler plug on mine: http://home.comcast.net/~skatesharpening/trans001.htm And of course, good luck. Once the fluid is at the level of the threads of the fill hole, you are set, or I suppose you can use the correct amount fed through the...

    Transaxle fluid question.

As I have been instructed by one of the great GT Guys, when using a transaxle cooler, the typical filler plug is not used. Instead, get some nice clear plastic hose, 1/2 inch, I cannot recall, a couple of feet long. Remove the speedometer sensor carefully, as not to damage the re-usable O-ring...

With help from Shadowman, I replaced my 3 drive belts.

Okay, finished, rotating it clockwise and took two more photos; probably not much better than the first set. http://1fordgt.com/2011/Ford_gt/February/3BeltChange/0001.jpg http://1fordgt.com/2011/Ford_gt/February/3BeltChange/0002.jpg The end, for this job. Pete S.

With help from Shadowman, I replaced my 3 drive belts.

It is only a small thing to remove the panel and cover and readjust the tensioner. Timely, but will not be a problem: I got the special instructions in last nights e-mail, but believe the static tension is most likely equal to what it will be when going clockwise; but the ability of the spring...

With help from Shadowman, I replaced my 3 drive belts.

Well, I turned the outer piece in the direction of the arrow by pushing the tang and snugged up the bolt on the tensioner until the "scribe mark" was within the "viewer". So, I did it as the book said, which means maybe pulling it apart again. Of course, I have had concerns with the manual in...

With help from Shadowman, I replaced my 3 drive belts.

During the yearly car preparations, I typically replace all 4 rotors, pads, fluid, along with an oil change, and from time to time flush the trans axle fluids. I know the GT Guys are scheduled to be with 100 miles next month, and I had purchased the accessory and supercharger belts from Torrie...

Easy to Replace the Front Splitter?

The frown is the sign of slightly bent supports, and I cannot tell by looking at one if it is bent. The cost for new supports is minimal, and in case you didn't know, the through holes on the supports are elongated as they are slightly adjustable. Hopefully you have an '06 grille, or late '05...

Easy to Replace the Front Splitter?

My question would be "why are you replacing it?" If you have bumped it against something, even slightly, you will also want to order the three front supports, as they bend fairly easily with front splitter contact with any immovable object, and it is easier to pop three new ones in than to try...

    2006 Grille conversion

No, only the front fascia is gently removed to take the several screws that hold the grille to the fascia, then the '05 grille can be set aside and the late '05-'06 grille can be attached with the same screws. And let us not forget the GT Guys have a piece that snaps into the bottom and screws...

    New car ahead of schedule

Really thinking its time to unload the Ford GT and why. 6000 miles. Never in rain. Never outside. Never uncovered. How in the heck does someone put 6,000 miles on an odometer if the cover is not ever removed. Or do we have the special secret translucent cover in Tampa? So, as it was never...
