Surging issue, dumping boost around 12 psi

Getting back on topic... I did hear from the concierge late last week that a vacuum line to the waste gate which runs very close to the turbo was found damaged (one source said melted another said cut). They have not yet driven the car to see if that was the culprit. Just passing the info along...

Surging issue, dumping boost around 12 psi

Multimatic is digging into it as we speak and might have found a cause. I’ll wait to post until it is confirmed.

Surging issue, dumping boost around 12 psi

Thanks Joe, I’m very thankful for you, Bryan, Kendall and others for the support and confidence to maintain my car into the foreseeable future. I know many owners can feel intimidated by the complexity of the car and cost of ownership outside of warranty, but I have no plans on selling my car...

Surging issue, dumping boost around 12 psi

Everything you say makes sense, but one other thing to consider that I might not have previously said is that when this event happens you can feel a shutter almost like a clutch slipping.

Surging issue, dumping boost around 12 psi

I don’t mind, I’m learning a lot here too. But another direction to consider is that the engine is operating normally and the clutches are momentarily releasing while under load causing the computer to dump boost. We did change the waste gates, and they are a common part to other EcoBoost...

Surging issue, dumping boost around 12 psi

My car has been since sent back to Multimatic for this and wheel creaking issue, but before it was sent back, a Ford engineer came down to Arizona and documented the issue. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

    Looking For A Trailer

The first 4 pics are of my new trailer. The last is of my old one I sold to a forum member, it was a little too tight for the new GT.

    Looking For A Trailer

Check out Montrose Trailers. They are custom built to spec. I had this one built specifically for the new GT. It only weighs 1800 lbs, has double O track and sway control. I had it built in August of 2020 for under $20k. I’ve since had it across the US to several events. This is my first...

Yep, no expense spared. This Bronco sat completely underwater for days after Katrina flooded New Orleans. So happy it was saved.

    God Speed Alex Borla..!!

A great mentor and car enthusiast that will be missed. We met at Le Mans, but kept up over the years. He was one of those guys that has been there and done that and was definitely not afraid to speak his mind. I remember that van ride to the Mulsanne, good times! From humble beginnings in an...

Need to Adjust the Rear Clamshell, a big deal or not?

Mine was rubbing in the same spot. I adjusted it when installing new exhaust. I remember tweaking the rear quarter a bit to achieve a more uniform gap. Like others have said, it is not difficult, just tedious. I did it with the car on the ground, but in the air would be easier. You need to...

    Introducing K198

Congrats! Don’t forget some of the NFGT basics: Store with wing up, maintainer plugged in, and I recommend leaving 1/4” gap in drivers window when stored (never had an issue, but good piece of mind). Drive it as designed, bang through the gears and cycle the hydraulics often. Make sure it has...
