I had a h pipe on a mustang like x but bridged. I think the h cross needs to be tuned to the system but it sounded sweet
The X pipe replaces the muffler. And you choose an X pipe (re tip length, that is) based on whether or not you will keep the bumper or remove it.So, if I were to buy the X pipes from Rich and keep the mufflers and bumper I would be good?
My wife and I listened to about 8-10 different options (side by side) at Carlisle Ford Nationals (10 years ago) and selected the H-pipe...I'm guessing its ~modern X-pipe.So I can update the list above, where does the H pipe fall re loudness? Is it about the same as the X pipe but just a different tone?
After purchasing our GT in 2009, one of the first things I noticed was it didn't have the muscle car sound I appreciated from some of my other cars.Is your x pipe from Rich the GT Guy?

I designed my own X-pipe and as mentioned, there is a drone around 2150 RPM. I am currently designing a quarter wave pipe (Helmholtz Resonator) that should reduce it. More later on this project, JayView attachment 71859
Rick, not a lot of wives opine on exhaust notes--I'd say you've got a "keeper" there!I have a buddy here in Indy, Pete W. with a red 2005 GT. His exhaust sounds great, my wife mentioned how much better his sounds than our stock exhaust. He was not sure what was on his car, as it was on when he purchased it. I will try to see what he actually has on his.
