    Tires!!

Interesting reading everything so far. I had put on a set of Bridgestone’s about 8 years back and was disappointed. I’ll take the Goodyears any day, especially on the track or the road in rain. No avoiding rain when on a long trip. Like everyone else, its back to the Bridgestone’s which do grip...

    P0174, Lean Bank 2 solved

Just wanted to post my most recent trouble and solution a Check Engine light which stated the typical Lean Condition codes. It was odd as it only popped on at an idle and never while actually driving. For example when I made the 300 mile drive to attend Carlisle it only appeared when I was at a...

Carlisle Ford Nationals this weekend - Pre-Event pics inside

Yes, Mike was on Goodyears and in second gear. However I think like me he considers the Goodyears a much better overall tire choice. I put on a nice set of the Bridgestones and found them uncomfortably grabby, trying to maneuver the car based on every crack or shift in the road surface; and...

Carlisle Ford Nationals this weekend - Pre-Event pics inside

It was by far the best weather I'd experienced for this event. Nice light shower Friday night into early Saturday kept some busy polishing again. Missed a few regulars and enjoyed spending time with those that did show up...

Car pulls to side on hard acceleration

I removed everything on the right side replacing the toe link. Today wanted to try only taking out the air box and the wheel and was able to replace the left side toe link. The installation of the outer end of the toe link was easier to attach with everything out of the way but was way more...

Car pulls to side on hard acceleration

And reality sets in as I changed the drivers side toe link without removing the brake rotor and it took almost 1/10 of the time. So only the air box and wheel need be removed. Oh, and I think mine is just shy of 50K miles.

Car pulls to side on hard acceleration

I felt the same drifting to the left during smooth but hard acceleration at higher speeds and after reading this thread and speaking with Rich (GTG) ordered a set and am in the closing stages of putting the passenger side back together. Here are my notes and some photos...

    carbon brake pads

Got to agree with xrayman396 on the CL pads from Essex. They rattle and squeak a bit but less dust and superior controllable breaking and wear.

GT Guys coming to Maryland VI

There I was with a handful of OPUS X’s waiting for Mike to show . . . Thanks John for a great weekend down there in the southern part of the state. What would we do without the GT Guys? A few photo’s here, http://1fordgt.com/2013/JOHNBANDGTG/JOHNBANDGTG01.htm , and I look forward to heading down...

Props to Shadowman, again and again

I must also say that Bill has always pointed me in the right direction, or at least convinced me that there is little to these cars that I (or anyone) cannot fix by myself in my garage. From the muffler change sitting on top of the supercharger, to pulling the radio out, the front fascia removal...

    How to tighten this?

I did a re-attach a while back, and have a few photos. Time consuming, but not difficult. You need a hand full of the plastic pop rivets, and plastic "christmas tree" looking things, and three plastic pieces that are mounted under the front fascia that pop into the cross section underneath - as...

    Clutch bleeder valve nut size

If any still don’t know where to look: http://1fordgt.com/2012/FGT/CLUTCHBLEEDER01.jpg http://1fordgt.com/2012/FGT/CLUTCHBLEEDER02.jpg Pete S. . . . And I think a 10mm on the bleeder, as mentioned above, and an 11mm on the brake caliper bleeders.

How to jack up rear (or front) of car without a lift

Okay, this first link is for the entire side of the car: http://home.comcast.net/~petraathome/fgtjak02.htm , and the second if you decide to go more slowly and just lift one wheel at a time: http://home.comcast.net/~skatesharpening/fgtlift02.htm . Pete S.
