Get a radio shop to connect a cord to the Mac that is compatible with your I phone plug, on accessories. That's the best low cost solution, sounds great.
Replace your battery before you do anything more. My gauges were acting sporadically even though battery would start the engine. Replaced it with new Optima and everything works now.
My Diehard is finally going bad after 12 years and what I've read is over 10 years old. Some folks suggest Optima and others hate them. Sears is gone so... what battery is the best now and please include model number.

OK, say what you will about keeping a charger on your car but I still haven't had even an intermittent gauge failure since I started keeping the car on a tender.

Not good to sit unranked so long, rubber seals especially in the AC compressor start to leak. You should crank it and idle for at least until the oil gets hot every other week.
