Photos of the day we bought our Ford GT's.

I bought my 2005 Ford GT, vin 1FAFP90S05Y400201, new off the showroom floor at Buster Miles Ford in Heflin, AL on February 23, 2006. The founder of the dealership sold me the car. Buster Miles was 82 years old at the time, and still working in the store every day. This was the only GT they had...

    Oil leak

It was a Melling oil pump M360, application listed for both the 07-12 GT500 and for the 05-06 GT with dry sump (see first link below). I did find the external oil pump from a Ford OEM parts vendor (see second link below). But at that price I will first try to find the correct seal and replace...

    Oil leak

So I went ahead and bought a new oil pump to solve the small oil leak inside the oil pump belt cover. Turned out that I received what I assume to be the internal oil pump (?), and not the outer one behind the belt. What is the outside one called? Oil sump pump maybe? A good source for this part?

    Oil leak

Thanks for the good advice. I find the original Ford oil pump (4G7Z-6600-AA) for $ 1,523, and the Melling oil pump (M360) for $ 98. Would the Melling oil pump be OK? (it is listed as standard pressure, standard volume, aluminum body).

    Oil leak

I am replacing the oil pump belt, and discovered that I have a small oil leak inside the oil pump belt cover. Minor, but enough that the turbulence from the belt throws the small amount of oil around and makes the belt oily. It is hard to determine where the oil is coming from, but the seal...

    Recall issues

I took off the pans to do an inspection for my oil leak, and got lucky in that it was only leaking from the oil pan plug, so an easy fix. I also removed the oil pump belt cover to inspect the belt. There was a small oil seep inside the cover, but enough to moist the belt. The small leak looks to...

Planning to remove the pans this weekend for a better look before deciding on any further action. Good point regarding the axle bolt labor. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for all the responses. Very helpful! Thanks to Jeff (the Grey Ghost) who offered to provide a Ford Oasis report. My car does have an oil leak.

    Recall issues

I have an early 05 GT (October 04 production) that I bought new. It presently has 5,000 miles on it. I am doing my own service work, and the car has never been back to a Ford dealer. I am now planning to take it to a Ford dealer to do the two open recalls, driver and passenger airbags. These are...

Hello, I cannot recall what I paid for them, it has been 15 years... I do not know whether they are still available, and if so at what retail price. Meanwhile my mats have been sold. Thanks for your interest.
