    2005 Black with Silver stripes

Actually, the original post says "new tires with 2500 miles." Post doesn't indicate current mileage.

2006 Ford GT - Black @ Phillips Auto

PPI or not, this is enough to scare me away from this dealership: "Exotic car & SUV rentals available" http://www.phillipsauto.com/dealership-info

    What year?

So, is it too simplistic to say that with relatively frequent driving (1-2 times per week) and say an annual battery change (or maybe every two years) one could almost guarantee to avoid this, or the gauge failure issue, altogether?

A flip side to that position is that there will be more GTs for sale as sellers are hoping the summer driving season will yield a higher selling price.

So, someone placed a "buy it now" bid at $160k and you think the seller will then try to needle the buyer for more $$? As mentioned in a previous post to this thread I am aware of another low mileage '05 car that was purchased for $160k (using "buy it now") and is now in a well known dealer's...

At least one of these dealers is purchasing cars on ebay for the lower price and then subsequently marking the price up once it is placed in their inventory...so does that mean the ebay price is not an accurate market price?

Here is another car that just went for $160k: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GT-COUPE_W0QQitemZ250234876930QQcmdZViewItem I think I know which dealer bought it, but will not be certain until the VIN shows up in their inventory (with a much elevated price, of course).

You can find a car with much fewer miles than that for similar money. For instance, a well known dealer just purchased a red 2005 with less than 600 miles on ebay for $160k. Deals are there...you just have to act fast.

Heritage on eBay with no reserve...

Shelby, I hope you know nothing in my previous post was intended to disparage your dealership or its use of Ebay. Rather, I was just disagreeing with my interpretation of Gulf's comment that cars on Ebay are not, across the board, of high quality. Since I have started my search for a GT I have...

Heritage on eBay with no reserve...

I wouldn't say the cars on Ebay are not "real top notch." For instance, Elite, which you say has 100% perfect cars, just bought two GT's from Ebay sellers recently and are now offering them for sale.

Heritage on eBay with no reserve...

I asked the seller what his reserve was as well. In his response he provided his sales pitch by informing me the Heritage paint was a $30,000 option.

Like I said in a previous post, sorry for the hijack. Although, in my defense, if you look at the string of posts I simply was responding to Shelby and aajoseph's comments...my first post was rather succinct. Sorry again.

Unfortunately I don't have the $$$ necessary to wake up in an ocean front La Jolla home. However, I can state for a fact that various areas in SD in the $2 to $3 million range have VERY eager sellers. I apologize for hijacking DPGT's thread...I will shut up now. Shelby certainly is correct...

Now I am not insane! No way do I think I am purchasing a GT at this moment for $150ish. Show me a sub-1,000 mile car for ~mid to high $170's and I am likely a buyer if the car checks out. Problem is dealers think they can get mid to high $190's for these type of cars. I might very well be wrong...
