Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Just the cable just taking up the slack of the rubber that’s missing

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Just a small 1/8th inch zip tie. Can barely tell it’s there Dan

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Not the funnest thing to install but not the worst part on a GT either. just need to use vaseline where the cables pass through the rear bulk head.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Obsolete yes. Not a item that gets wrecked easy, except now IMO an item that 4000 cars are going to need in the future.. Or a fix. Maybe a person could have just the cables reproduced with the rubber grommets down the road.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Ford has actually done above and beyond any other make they have ever sold as far as parts go.. There were 3 engines in stock 2.5 years ago.. Imagine that, 17 years later and they were still storing oem engines. That's unheard of. They only have to support the car for 10 years. There is a lot...

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

I'll post it but just in between the ball and the lever.. I used like a 1/8th zip tie. Small one.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

I put the zip tie on the ball side and it takes up the slack of the rubber missing.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

so yours still opens? Craigs cable just fell away from the latch finger.. I'm thinking a 3D printed u shaped piece that fits up into the latch and holds the cable from falling out and also has the desired thickness of the oem rubber.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

The release cables are obsolete. So either a 3d printed part needs to be made to go in the latch parts to take up the room of the rubber that fails or you need to use zip ties for now.
