06gt1858, I wouldn't entirely discount the foreign buyer. Yes, some are just talk, but there are many rich people living in Dubai. And most anyone that attempts to purchase a hard to find car knows that we are smart enough to protect ourselves from any scams.

You may be able to get a premium price, and yes, it may be slightly more complicated, but there are some very wealthy individuals from than part of the world that could buy your Shelby and the dollars envolved would mean absolutely nothing to them.

I've sold two cars over the years to overseas purchasers without a hitch.

Just a thought, but be careful.

Bill speaks with authority. The number of super cars that wind up in that part of the world is mind blowing. Treat them they same way as any buyer who lives down the street... no more, no less. The difference between the Arabs is they buy only, not buy and sell. Or if they sell it is between their own community.

I've sold two cars over the years to overseas purchasers without a hitch.

I've also sold to buyers from across each ocean.

I was also contacted by their U.S. representative. The individuals allowed me to verify the US$ funds were readily available. I received a simple contract which was followed by funds that were wired into a bank account that was set up for the transactions. They hired a reputable shipper to pick up the items a couple of weeks after the wire cleared.

I never communicated with the buyers.

Here are some thoughts:

If you don't know the buyer or his agent may I suggest you open a secondary bank account at a bank where you don't have any other business. Get their transfer numbers and when the funds land in their account and only after you have transfered the CASH out effect possession of the goods.

With so many counterfit cashiers chedks floating out there and that it may take three weeks or more to determine this the seller must discount this form of trade.

Well, I guess the GT500's got soft....bummer, I will let her go for 46K...any less and I will keep her for a daily driver......geess guys a new 08 plane gt cost 40K???, maybe I let my 16 year old have it to drive to high school...LOL!!!
