The question is why would someone leave 50 large on the table? Bait and switch?

My exact thoughts , why not $110K or $105000 ..Why all the way down to $91K..............

It's:bs when they say "The car has never been raced. The car has never been in an accident or damage in anyway.":thumbsdow

Correct ... pure scam with an MO I've seen used many times on ebay ... most often with Corvettes. Note his reply to the buyer who says he is an hour away. Scam artist says he is "out of the country" right now and wants to "start the transaction" and so on. :bs

When it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true!

Some one call and see what the story is on this car.

It is the same car that was posted with an ebay link by Lamboman on 3/25. The real owner was in Flint Mi.

Someone responsible should contact George and let him know.. It would be a cheap track car..

Okay

I have sent an e-mail to this seller :bs and will keep posting if I get any responses.

Good man pete.. George is the buyer, isn't he? He left his number on the right of that link I thought.

Here is the reply . . .

Hello,

The VIN is 1FAFP90S46Y400414.I've bought the car about 1 year ago .It's in perfect condition,no scratch ,no damage, nothing wrong.
As I posted on racingjunk I'm out of country for the moment and the Ford GT is located in FL,LAKELAND .
2 -3 weeks till I come back in the US means a lot of time and it won't be a good deal for me.I am able only to start the shipping to your address , free shipping and a refund policy (if the vehicle is not as descripbed you send it back(there will be a trial period of few days)and get your money back).
If you agree let me know your zip # so I will arrange the shipping and also I will start a transaction through escrow.com wich will allow you to inspect the vehicle before I get paid. It's safe for both of us,also I've seen that is strongly recommanded by racing junk.
For more information please visit the official website of escrow.com www.escrow.com
If you have any more question please do not hestiate to email me .
PS: Please check the attachement for additional pictures
All the best,
Ray

So, if anyone knows how to follow up on this from here?

You might ask him why he turned down these seven bidders all of whom bid between $128,000 to $140,000.

stay away. sounds like a scam. ask him to talk on the phone. I bet he wont give you a # to call.

If you "know somebody", you could get the plate # & go thru DMV and find out who the registered owner is, the "legal" owner, etc. But, regardless, B4 I did anything $$$$$ wise, I'd fly down to Lakeland & EYEBALL the car. THAT COULD SAVE YOU A LOT OF HASTLE & $$$$$$ DOWN THE ROAD. (Then you could just drive it back yourself if you wanted to.) But, there are enough GT's for sale - pbly even in your own area - that "remote control" deals arn't worth messing with IMHO..."escrow" be darned.

Buying from somebody who's out of the country & doing everything "long distance" just wouldn't make me one BIT comfortable UNLESS I PERSONALLY KNEW THE GUY. Then, no pblm. Knock yourself out.

Just my $.02.

No bargains out there, specially for these cars.

If it's too good to be true, it is a scam or accident mess...
