I have a very minor area on the roof where the blue paint has flaked off the stripe (at the tape line). I paid a visit to my local ford dealer to get some touch up paint & to my surprise, they don't offer stripe paint, only paint for the body color. Any suggestions???

I would think that the stripe and the body color should have been clear coated. Therefore no flaking of the stripe or the body color should happen

I have paint cracking on my clam shell, right between the stripes. I'm not anal, so I'm not worried about it, but still, it looks like a hair or something caught under the paint.

There is no clear coat on the stripes. Only the body paint has clear.

I beg to differ, there is clear on the stripe. Anyway, here's what I got............

Obviously a warranty issue. Take it to your dealer.

Gulf your thinking of just ours...the Heritage cars have no clear on the orange strip...I don't know about the other colors.

I had the white paint chip away on the roof of mine, the dealers body/paint shop did an outstanding job repainting the spot. Surely your dealer can provide the same service; as for a bottle of "White Stripe touch up paint", maybe it's not available, but I'll check here in Maryland. Good luck.

Paint Stripe

As I watched my car and others being built at Saleen, I recall the stripes area being sanded and masked and added prior to the full clear coat operation. Therefore, the stripes would have clear coat over them and blending to the base color. Not sure on the Heritage.
If you have blue stripes on a white car, I recall the color is 'Ford Motor Co. Sonic Blue'. The color was used on Mustangs extensively up until 2006. My car is covered in storage so I cannot check, but it may have the color code of the base color and stripe color on the ID plate..it would typically be a 2 alpha code (ie HH etc) . Check out the Sonic Blue...wish I could help you out more...

You might consider putting a call in to Saleen in MI.
