What makes a crate motor a krate motor? I wonder if the Holman & Moody (now Holman Moody) box is for sale.

I think it's like krab meat or Krispy Kreme.

Probably the same thing that makes an engine a motor. :frown

That guy has an amazing list of parts.

Love to have that mill in my Datsun. Or anything else.

Unbelievable listing of rare parts.

From what I can remember Bob Perkins is one of the know all's in the Mustang community.

Can you imagine stuffing one of these into a Cobra or GT40 replica?

FTAd:"*The last cammer engine*was dyno tested and tuned and made 761HP and 622ft/lbs of torque. Engine has street camshaft and runs on premium pump gas. Idles at 800 rpms with no problem. This is a street engine that looks like none other and makes great power. It can be raced*if you would like but is made to be driven on the street with no problems."

If you are looking for an engine for a 60's Ford (Cobra, Mustang, Galaxie/Fairlaine), Keith Craft should be at the top of your list.

I wanna build a 41 Willys or a 36 Ford 3window with this engine in it!

I agree Tony. The 331 stroker in my Kirkham was built by Keith Craft and it is the bomb.

Trivia question: how long is the secondary timing chain on the 427 SOHC?

No cheating using the Internet Machine.

287 yards :)

One sits on a stand at the Boulder Shelby museum. It's stuck against a back wall so most people never even see it.

It's an amazing engine.

By the way, no Shelby Cobra was ever built with a SOHC engine. Jay Leno's Cobra replica has a SOHC.

Someone built a Kirkham with a Cammer. I believe it was a major effort to get it to fit, but man, what an awesome sight when the hood is lifted.

Edit: here it is. Because everyone knows the Cammer is a wimpy motor, it needs twin Paxton superchargers. Keith Craft's handiwork.

A local guy has a Ford Fairlaine "Thunderbolt" with a cammer in it. It makes the sideoiler look like a toy engine.

I recall that Texas Cobra built an early CSX4000 for a Dr in E TX with an original SOHC with webers. I remember the car won "best engine" at the annual Yellow Rose car show in Ft Worth in the late '90s. The reason I recall this is that my CSX was in the same show and won Best Cobra and Best Sports Car trophies. I thought he was going to win with that set up. It sounded wild when he fired it up!
