It seems our GT's are rising much quicker than our home values these days! =)

What is current market value for <5k mi GTs?

$150K?

All depends on year, COLOR, options, condition, history. There can be a $20k spread easy

How does KBB compile values?

How does KBB compile values?

I dont know how they are coming up with their numbers. They dont have any real sales figures on GTs. I would assume they go off of auction prices, which are very inaccurate on FORD GTs as there have only been 3 FORD GTs go through the Manheim auction in the last YEAR which is not enough evidence to come up with an accurate number.

And Manheim is mainly for "fishtanks".

What is color $ descending order:

Gulf
Yellow
Silvers
Blue
Black

I live in US and own an 06 GT in FL and my mother country, Australia with a converted GT will run you about USD$600.
So you think 200K for a GT is up from a year ago+, don't buy one from the bottom of the world.
If the price goes up more in the next 20 years (when I retire), I know the location I'll be sending the GT.
I don't care if it goes up $0 in that time, I'll be a head of the game.
The GT in 20 years will be still a legend ......
I paid about 175k for my Heritage GT late 05 and CAN NOT get rid of it for one second.
It will travel with me forever..... like the night I................ sorry, another story!

does it need to be converted to RHD for it to be imported/driven in the australian roads?

Yes it does have to be converted to RHD.
If the cars over 30 years I think it can stay as is.

From what I gather you have the purchase price converted to the currency it's going to AUD (1 to 1 right now)
Many cashed up Australians are buying collector cars/boats and sending them south (our economy is the strongest developed nation in the world right now, with good buying power)
So say you've got your 150k GT, you then have to include the shipping cost as additional value, so say 15k (now 165k)
15% is added as it lands for duty.
Conversion is added (I think 30-50k), and Australian Design Rules may have the odd thing on the car changed (maybe indicator colour?)
then you'll have something like a 10% GST added and then 25% luxury tax built in to every dollar past 50k.
So you can see the govt can make well north of $100k-200k on the high end cars
Now even doing the math the seller is making a killing at this 600k.
Doing it yourself is by far cheaper and worth saving hundreds right now.

FYI.....When the GT came out it was priced at about 400k and that was with a weaker dollar, it seems to be following the competition on the current price point (Gallardo)
They cost about AUD$400k in 05, so to the GT, funny how the US GT prices haven't gone along way in the last few years, but now a decked out Lambo runs 600k, so to the GT.....scam.

Like I said, the GT will follow me if I ever return to OZ for good.

Actually there have been seven (05 & 06) GT's sold thru Manheim in the last year.

wow.... and i thought that the uk govt was ripping me off gbp 30k on my gt, now i see that there are bigger thieves around!

For their poorly-researched 2010 article about the resale value of the Ford GT, Sports Car Market magazine used only a single data point, an Bonhams auction in Australia where a GT sold for $187K.

That publication then compared that Australian auction sale price with the original U.S. MSRP and concluded that GTs had all appreciated significantly.

As Hooked On GT states above, the costs to bring a GT into Australia are huge, and as such clearly that particular Australian seller lost a pile of money selling the car for that price.

I was referring to 05 and 06 models separately as that's how they are calculated by KBB

Thought you had stated "GTs".....I didn't see year specific.

I didn't say I said the word 05 or 06, rather that is what I was referring to. Was simply trying to make a point that manheim did not have sufficient information.

Having bought 2 GTs this year, I found prices to be all over the place. It seems to me buyers are skeptical of private sales and will pay a premium to buy from reputable exotic dealers who do repeat business in GTs.

I do know one thing if you want a particular color--say black or blue with low miles at a good dealership don't spend a lot of time thinking about it--some go in less than 24 hrs and sometimes even before they hit the dealers' lots.
