Well I could find any real GT's ....:bored this was the best I could find... I can sniff out the GT's presence at 50 paces..:biggrin B&M had a write up about Their involvement in the Ford GT in their new catalog. Nice paper, great for the GT memorabilia collection...:thumbsup

And there were these Gems.. The documentation on the Silver car said it was clocked at 217 MPH...

that silver cars i sweet!!! what size motor and how much HP......
 
That guy knew

He told me that the motor was made in canada.as with alot of them during
that time.I talked with him for a long time,real cool car.
 
I spoke with the owner of that Thunderbolt. He said it was one of those literal "basket cases" when he found it.

That car is THEE actual 1st Thunderbolt built.

If I remember what the signs stated, those cars could be bought BY ANYBODY who wanted to go racing back then for something like $4,500! And, quite logically, they had NO WARRANTY at all! :lol

'Didn't ask him that. But, from the looks of the signage on the rear qtrs, it was at least BASED somewhere around the Carolina's.

Holman & Moody may have tweaked 'em and raced 'em, but they were developed and built by a company called DST (Dearborn Steel Tubing) who did much of Ford's development throughout the 60's. :wink

Backed up by an article on them in last month's Hot Rod Magazine, including the offspring of the owners of the company. HM probably supported the cars for racing as they did the GTs. They had a new GT at the centennial that was worth well over a million. I think they told me in the booth that they pulled parts off the shelf to build the car.
