So I go out today and take off the cover, slide the key it, turn it, and the start button does nothing!

Radio is fine, windows go up and down so it's not the battery, (I have lots of battery experience:wink).

I know the GT keys don't have a code or battery or whatever, but I figured, maybe they do. So I tore up my place looking for the other key, no dice, still won't start.

15 minutes later, I'm covered in sweat and cursing.

THEN, I push in the clutch and she starts right up!

Stupid Tesla doesn't have a clutch and I'm so used to driving it now that I forgot! :willy

Those thoughtless Telsa people should of stuck one in! :frown

That is so funny. I can totally imagine the feeling and sweating and in those times you end up doing goofy things like scratching your own car or somthing crazy. Benn there and done that. My friend has a Tesla and really enjoys it. He also has an Audi R* which I had to teach him how to drive!!! But the Tesla seems so hard since you cannot downshift around corners and have to break. I have not driven one yet but they are cool and I think they will also adapt the upcoming Lotus Evora and bring a 2+2 soon...

I'll need to put a little sign on the dashboard to remind me in the future.

I told my friend if we all had Teslas in LA we would experiencemajor black-outs but will be green!!!

could have been worst if it was like an older car and it had started and you would have lunged into the wall or garage door....

If it's any consolation, I have list of alzheimer's things I've done that would make you feel a lot better.

:lol:lol

I've just bought a new boat - so there I was at the pontoon ready to go. No dice - but an alarm sound every time I turned the key.

"Kill-cord dummie" shouts someone over the harbour.

Duh!

For those that don't, there's a red cord that needs to be attached or the engine won't turn....

I have to say the the FGT system of clutch down is a good one - all cars should be started this way... :)

Oh.....Here they are.

True story. Just a couple days ago I spent 10 minutes looking for my car keys. They were in my hand! I felt like a blooming idiot. :willy

These things never happen to me. :bang

It also happens the other way too.

I owned a Jeep for 10 years and drove nothing but stick. When the jeep died, I bought an automatic. When I pulled out of the dealership, I hit the brake like it was the clutch. If it wasn't for my seatbelt, I'm sure I would have hit the windshield.

Just remember that it is not a problem if you forget where you left the car keys. It's only a problem if you forget what they are for. Lol

Too many cars,

Some times I still get in the GT and try to turn the key far enough to start it.:willy The remember the push to start button.
I also have used the brake for a clutch before in the automatic.

I've got mostly right hand drive cars, but obviously the GT is LHD. Drive to petrol station. Fill it up. Pay. Walk back to car. Open door and get in....to the passenger seat.

:bored

Now I need a RHD car just so I can experience that one. :rofl

All sounds like residuals of THC from the past years...

I was watching an old episode of Top Gear recently and I was wondering why Clarkson was driving on the right side of the road. It just looked wrong, for him. He was driving in Detroit.

I watched a guy stomp his motocycle to death trying to start it at the gas station. I just walked over and flipped his kill switch for him without saying a word.

I've pulled the same basic stunt with my "weed whacker"...:frown:frown:frown:willy
