We all saw this commercial, but it's worth going back to just to get your blood pumping and remind you these cars ARE incredible drivers!

Enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMgn7vOH144

Agreed!

We've all seen this, what, 10, 20, 30 or more times? It still sends chills down my spine and I never forget I'm fortunate to own one. :thumbsup :banana:banana

Perhaps, even more so now.

I've stated this before, but, this ad was what really pushed me over the "fence" as far as which 'car I was going to buy!!!

The instant I saw this beast sending up a blue cloud DIRT TRACKING around those paved corners - I knew which car would be in my garage!

Willie III's office was kind enough to send me a copy of this ad. I've played it dozens of times.

Please note carefully chosen words "which car would be in my garage!"

And, never left... :lol

Ya know, I debated encluding a disclaimer referring to the "garage" stmt...but, then I thought, "Ah whut th' heck. I'm gunna 'catch it' ennywayz".

...and I was right!:lol

If any of us needed something to "seal the deal", that commercial did it. :cheers

All I need is drift skills like that :biggrin

I don't quite remember my stock exhaust sounding like that! Does anyone know if that car used for the commercial had a different exhaust system other than OEM?

Ya know... I didn't want to start but.... since its already started I think its only fair to clarify that the "car" is in fact in Empty's garage and it also as already noted has never left. :rofl :willy

Jeeez ... after all these times it still feels like I need a cigarette and a moist towelette after watching that! Ahhhh ....

If I had a dollar every time I watched that my pockets would be stuffed right now.:thumbsup

In the beginning......

.....when the Ford GT first went into production and examples started being shipped out to dealers, none of the Ford Dealerships in the Phoenix area had one. When Ford of North Scottsdale finally received an example (red with white stripes) I drove down to look at it but they wouldn't let me open the door and sit in it. Nobody was allowed to touch it. They would not accept less than $250,000. They ended up selling it for $230,000 over the telephone and the car was shipped to London. I wasn't willing (able?) to pay 60+ thousand dollars over sticker and so my only Ford GT experience for months was watching that commercial a couple times a day.

That obsessive compulsion was probably the norm for many other current members of this Forum. I remember those days fondly although back then, I didn't know any members of the Ford GT Forum. The best days were yet to come. Today, is the good old days. I'll see you at Rally IV. :cheers

Actually, I do own two that in fact never have ventured out of their enclosures...

Empty: You did the right thing. Kudos. Keeping the first one in solitary confinment was cruel and obviously led to depression evidenced by the oil drips on the garage floor. At least two can keep each other compay. Your garage is clearly the FGT equivilent of the Black Flag Roach Motel... FGTs go in but they don't come out!!! :LOL

Nevertheless you clearly have a good heart my friend :thumbsup

I would love to buy my gal a play friend but this year its taking the form of an inground swimming pool for the wife and kids.
