floor pan adhesive question

i am ready to install my new floorpans which are glued and riveted
to the chassis - i see in my workshop manual that "liquid butyl sealer T-18"
is used as the adhesive - is this a ford product or can anyone reccomend
where i can purchase this stuff ? i though about using "yamabond" which
is a very high quality silicone sealant - or does anyone have any suggestions what to use or where i can get the T-18 ?

Body shop supply.....call a local body shop and ask who their supplier is .......they should be able to get it for you .I would not use another type except for what is specified,primarily because of bonding to aluminum can be tricky if not done right using the right materials.
 
so ask the for "T-18" ? and you think a bodyshop will know by that name ?

The butyl is only for final sealing / waterproofing - it is not for the bonding of the floors to the chassis. Make sure you clean the surfaces and use the Bonding adhesive first - it is a 2 part adhesive, sold by the Ford Dealer as Motorcraft TA-1 (50 ml) or TA-1-B (250 ml) tubes that is a 2 part epoxy that mixes together as you squeeze it out. You will need to borrow or buy the applicator gun (expensive). The adhesive, as spelled out in the Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 04-26-16) can also use Fusor 108A or 108B (time-to-cure is different) made by Lord products (buy at any good body shop). You put 1/4" pop rivits in after applying a 4mm bead of adhesive. Then you applky the seam sealer (Motorcraft Urethane Seam Sealer #TA-2) for sealing. The floor bonded to the chassis adds strength and rigidity.
