Apparently Ford offered the 8-Track player as a dealer installed option, but I don't know if it was ever a factory option. For those of you too young to remember this generally crappy technology, you might want to take a look at why it was doomed to fail: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereo_8

When my player ate the first of many tapes, I opened it up to see if it was possible to splice it. When I saw the path the tape had to take, I remember thinking, "You've got to be joking!!":lol:lol
 
Believe me, I'm no fan of Jeremy Clarkson, but I always remember watching Top Gear and seeing The Stig put the GT through it's paces to the old school song, "Simply the Best" so that song always sticks in my mind when I'm driving the GT.

Axl Roses new Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy finally released in late November of 2008 is a 15 year musical masterpeice that has earned a permanent spot in my GT. with America on the brink of being sold out to China Axl's timing is remarkable. you can buy it at Best Buy. apparently when Axl plays the piano an orchestra wants to come out :club
