Here's a link to a story on Edmunds.com about a Shell oil TV commercial filmed in 1967, which is the second most expensive TV commercial ever made (Shell spent $3.9 million on an ad in 2007 featuring historic F-1 cars racing through the streets of Rome, London, New York and Rio, that appears at the bottom of the article, but it's worth finding on YouTube, in fact here's a direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iItzJc-NHI4)

Anyway, in 1967 they bought three brand new GT40s from JWA and sent them to Monza to be used in the commercial, which took a month to make. Although unfortunately the commercial isn't featured, the story behind it, and behind-the-scenes still photos, still make for very interesting reading.
