1800 mile 2005 GT sold in Greensboro NC for $257,500 + commission

Thanks Peter. Yeah, I need to make a final decision on what I'm doing. Moving into a FGT requires me to part with other cars, so I'm coming to terms with that. I get the ask/sell price differential. Just need to get to that point (funds in hand) to make any offers. Certanly would not buy any...

1800 mile 2005 GT sold in Greensboro NC for $257,500 + commission

Thanks Roger. I keep putting call Roger in my calendar and every week something comes up. I'm away until the end of the month, maybe in September we can finally get the cars together. "A 20,000 mile FGT is like a 1500 mile F-car, but with no "engine out" service looming on the horizon. Sorry...

1800 mile 2005 GT sold in Greensboro NC for $257,500 + commission

How many 4000+ produced cars sell for $300,000+. Drive the car, enjoy it and when you're done enjoying it move it on to the next person to enjoy. Speculating on a big production# car is a big gamble. Going from $300K to $600K is hard for me to believe, but I never bought a car as an...

Any opinions about the Mecum Houston GTs (3 of them)

Agree. Liked it better at RM with Max Girardo.

Any opinions about the Mecum Houston GTs (3 of them)

I have never been to an auction, but all the things I hear and the way they hammer one car in 3 seconds and take 5 minutes with another makes me sure I will never buy or sell at an auction. Especially at no-reserve.

    Paint thickness normal

Thanks for the responses. I know they were hand painted and figured they would have some varing thickness, but just wanted to hear from some owners. I'm not looking to potentially throw any dealer or individual under the bus and the car is in CA. I will answer you in a PM.

    Paint thickness normal

Was speaking with a seller today who said the cars can have varying paint thickness from 4-9 when checked, with a gun, in different areas and it's factory finish. Says he sells a fair number of FGTs. Is there any reality to this? I'm guessing no.

    1967 Jaguar E Type, OTS

A bit of irony here as I sold my 65 Jag to get a 512 BBi which was Adams old car. Now I'm thinking of parting with it to get a FGT. Some sort of wierd circle of sorts.

    Gauge failure

I see spedometers and tachometers on Fords website as replacements for insane money. Why are these guages so expensive? just limited #s produced.

Future potential owner here some questions about a Ford GT I want to buy....

Yeah, I'm also contemplating a FGT. I use the old adage on any car purchase I make. Get the best one you can afford, it always pays in the long run. I also don't like cars which are messed with, I like to buy bone stock and if necessary do my own personalizing. If the interior is all messed up...

Thanks guys, I drive my cars. Bought a concour 65 etype years ago to drive, people thought I was nuts. Not really looking to pay any big premium for a super low miles car, not looking to buy an odometer reading. things are a bit nutty right now with the new car coming out, but I have a # in my...

New Member possible FGT future owner

Hey Guys, I just wanted to say hello and from what I have read in the past few days, there is a lot of great info here on the cars. I know a few people who own them and of course they are telling me you have to get one. I ordered GT Joeys 1st book to really understand the idiosyncrasies of the...
