Thanks Peter. Yeah, I need to make a final decision on what I'm doing. Moving into a FGT requires me to part with other cars, so I'm coming to terms with that. I get the ask/sell price differential. Just need to get to that point (funds in hand) to make any offers.
Certanly would not buy any...
Thanks Roger. I keep putting call Roger in my calendar and every week something comes up. I'm away until the end of the month, maybe in September we can finally get the cars together.
"A 20,000 mile FGT is like a 1500 mile F-car, but with no "engine out" service looming on the horizon.
Sorry...
How many 4000+ produced cars sell for $300,000+. Drive the car, enjoy it and when you're done enjoying it move it on to the next person to enjoy.
Speculating on a big production# car is a big gamble. Going from $300K to $600K is hard for me to believe, but I never bought a car as an...
I have never been to an auction, but all the things I hear and the way they hammer one car in 3 seconds and take 5 minutes with another makes me sure I will never buy or sell at an auction. Especially at no-reserve.
Thanks for the responses. I know they were hand painted and figured they would have some varing thickness, but just wanted to hear from some owners.
I'm not looking to potentially throw any dealer or individual under the bus and the car is in CA. I will answer you in a PM.
Was speaking with a seller today who said the cars can have varying paint thickness from 4-9 when checked, with a gun, in different areas and it's factory finish. Says he sells a fair number of FGTs. Is there any reality to this? I'm guessing no.
A bit of irony here as I sold my 65 Jag to get a 512 BBi which was Adams old car. Now I'm thinking of parting with it to get a FGT. Some sort of wierd circle of sorts.
Yeah, I'm also contemplating a FGT. I use the old adage on any car purchase I make. Get the best one you can afford, it always pays in the long run. I also don't like cars which are messed with, I like to buy bone stock and if necessary do my own personalizing. If the interior is all messed up...
Thanks Roger, I appreciate the offer and for all the info you shared with me. I'll bring the Boxer for you to drive and you can drive it with abandon. :-)
