What does everyone own?

I just spent a few minutes on the lambo site and after 5 minutes it was all I could take. I have only been a member of this forum for 3 weeks but I appreciate how informative and respectful everyone is, which is the exact opposite on the Lambo site. Nothing but bickering, name calling and egomaniacs!

If the posts on that site are for real, then it is exotic car owners like that who give us all a bad name.

Great, now I feel better!

The real reason for my post is that I am interested in what type of vehicles everyone owns?

What are your daily drivers?
What is in your collection?
What are your "Sunday Drivers"?

I have a great collection of old and new, and am looking at the new Murci Lambo to add to it. (Although after spending a few minutes on the Lambo site I am not so sure.)

Thanks to anyone who responds! I am just interested in how other enthusiasts tastes compare to mine.

Daily driver is a 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo with the bike rack.
Wife has a 2006 Nissan 350Z GT.
I have a 2006 Ford GT as my Sunday driver and occasional track car.
That's it. Many people on this site have a stable of beautiful cars.

If I remember correctly, there is a thread on this subject in the Owner's Forum, which is viewable only by owners, and not by lurkers. You can check there. :thumbsup

Very good point - net forums are a good place for steal-to-order thieves to get info on collections and cars (hence the best reason to photoshop your plate clean when you post pictures) :cheers

My personal belief is you get a Ferrari/Lamborghini to say to the world you've got money, you get a Ford GT because you're a true car guy.

####### Could not agree less. Ferrari , Porsche, Lambo etc drivers may well have high interest credit but not an unpledged dime. You might want to read Dr Stanleys "The Millionaire Next Door" . Besides, owning a Ford GT doesnt make you a "real car guy". Real car guys (and car ladies) own --but I think far more importantly -----appreciate --all kinds of stuff.

I know I was vague with my post, I didnt go into detail... but what i'm trying to say is many people who can afford an exotic go with a ferrari or just about any other european make. They go more because of the name and becauase the average joe on the street will see the prancing horse or the Bull and say wow an italian super car. But most, say a Ford GT is a nice car... but its still a Ford. Oviously theres exceptions to every rule, but thats the general feeling I get between the two types of cars.... it mainly applies to those who can afford ONE exotic and not necessarily those with deep enough wallets to have collections or multiple exotics.

WOW!!!

I certainly did not mean to stir things up. Like Bony, I did not know about this info was available on the Owners Page. And while I appreciate the need for privacy related to what I own, I am not losing any sleep over someone doing something with this information. I do respect anyone that is not comfortable doing that and I will post the same question on the Owners Page if I am not talented enough to find the info in the site on my own.

In response to the question of a car as a statement, I would answer this way- I am new to this site, having just bought my GT. I bought the GT simply because I am in love with this car and have been since I first heard about it. I buy these cars because I want to, not because I feel the need to show off, or let everyone know that I have money! I had a boss once who told me, "If you have to tell people you are smart, you probably are not as smart as you think you are". I am a self made person who comes from absolutely nothing. Since I started with nothing, I appreciate everything that I have, no matter how nice. I want to own a Lambo because I think that the Murci is absolutely a fantastic work of art that would look great just sitting in the shop. I also am thinking about buying one because I like them, and since I have sacrificed for most of my life to get where I am, I do not worry about what other people may consider the reason why someone would own such a car.

I read "the millionaire mind" just as I was starting to have some success, and it is advice from that book that I took to heart in my business and personal life. That meansthat unlike the average "rich person", my net worth is very liquid, with a debt to equity ratio averaging 20%. No judgment on anyone who does it differently, it is just the way I have chosen to.

It is an absolute pleasure for me to say that I own the following:

2006 CLS 55 AMG with a full Renntech upgrade, 617HP & 650FPT
2001 Ford Lightning with full mods, 475 HP & 450FPT
2006 Ford Mustang GT with a Roush Supercharger Kit, 450 HP & 400FPT
2005 Dodge SRT 10 Viper Motor, 500 & 500
1965 Buick Gran Sport with a Blown 468, 750HP, 800 FPT
1961 Buick LeSabre Stock, 220 HP &, who cares- it's a great cruiser!
2001 Triumph 955 ST-The best late model motorcycle made!
2002 Triumph Speed Four-Lambo Orange that looks and drives like one.
2005 Triumph Bonny with the larger "cafe" motor.
2005 Ford Expedition Limited, (something for the wife and kids).
1957 Chevy 150 Custom Drag Racer, fuel injected on alcohol w/1200HP

1972 Datsun B210 to remind me where I came from. This car has a 4 speed, a door that hangs on one hinge, blows exhaust through the passenger side floorboard and it keeps me humble everytime I look at it.

There it is, have at me!

My DD is a 2007 Yukon, and I have a 2004 Gallardo and the GT for weekends.

Well, my daily driver is a Volvo v70r that is tweaked to 400 fwhp. My wife might come on this board some day, so I sure am not going to post an inventory of toys. :biggrin

I will say, I want a Datsun 510 BRE - Pete Brock race car... gotta get one, love watching them in under 2L vintage Trans Am. Made an offer on one and got laughed off the block. :eek

Daily drive is a 911 but if there is zero percent chance of precipitation then I can't leave the GT in the garage. Its 20 miles to work - I love it.

well it seems that i own everything but a ford GT. i look forward to buying a GT someday when the time is right but i won't sell any of my current toyz to do so. anyway, here is my list of motorized vehicles that i currently own:

2003 suzuki LTZ-400 quad (wifes quad)
2002 jim glo tilt bed auto trailer
2000 homebuilt quad/motorcyle trailer

all my ridez are paid in full (no loans for me), and so it will be with a ford GT when i buy one in 2008. i will pay for it with cash and when i do i will also sell my wifes truck and buy her a new ford mustang GT.

My daily driver is a Range Rover Vogue supercharged - I have a couple of Aston Martins and a Bentley GTC on the way. My wife drives a Subaru.

Interesting comments on Ferrari and Lamborghini ownership - I had a Murcielago for a while too. A car designed and built with incredible passion... However, the GT is a 'must-have' car in my opinion because of it's place in motoring history - it is quite unique. I didn't buy it for it's performance - the fact that it outperforms most cars is a bonus though!

No hornets nest - I think we've all heard the horror stories - perhaps urban legends? :bs - but equally, there is an issue with plate cloneing in the UK - hence my suggestion to clear license plates before posting pictures :wink

My daily driver is an E60 M5 - it was painted at the Individual Factory by BMW and has individual trim also; so imho, it feels special. I decided on this car because it's subtle and carries a lot less stigma than many other 'executive' cars - in fact, if I debadged it - I doubt anyone without a love of all things petrol would knew what it was! The car has all the toys, is a pleasure to drive on the motorway, freeway or Autobahn and yet get her in the twisites and she comes alive. My only reservation is the 75-litre fuel tank - it's just too small for a country destroyer! As I drive to Europe a lot on business, I notice it when I fill up 3-times on-route to my destination.

My wife has a Volvo XC90 - dull but comfortable and safe

I have a Mark 3 Morgan Aero 8 on order - it goes into production on June 26 (this year) and will take 5-weeks to build by hand. The mark 3 has resolved the strange squint the M1 & M2 headlights had by using the styling from the one-off AeroMax coupe, built for a European Prince. It is the lightest V8 powered sports car in the world and I'm looking forward to owning it.

Good choice Nomis. I drove the Aero 8 a few months ago. Very, very impressive. :thumbsup I wound up buying the Roadster however. Steeped in tradition...etc.

Gordo, some lovely cars there! :thumbsup

Did you get a chance to drive the face-lifted Aero 8? I had a go in a Mark 2 - basically the MY06 car with all the USA homologation changes, incl the extra 6" in the cabin width - but also has the chance to have a good look around, and sit in the Geneve MY06 Mark 3 show car (which has the face-lift as well as the changes). I just fell in love with it!

My wife has hinted on a classic Morgan for her 40th... :wink ...and I'm tempted to oblige (best of both worlds then :biggrin )

In all the confusion, I forgot to add my bicycles, since they together cost as much as a new Honda S2000, and I spend probably more time in them than I do driving my cars!

Serotta Ottrott custom built roadbike (carbon fiber and titanium)
Ellsworth road bike for the trainer
Scott Ransom Limited mountain bike (all carbon fiber baby!)
Seven Sola hardtail titanium mountain bike with S&S couplers for travel

I doubt anyone cares...but there!

Got a Huffy twin tanker with built in horn, luggage rack, bell andx horn on the handle bars. Hope to remove the training wheels in 2008

Ok yeah, white wall tires came standard. For more info see my posts under Bony at www.huffytwintankersownerforum.com
