Just sold wifeys GMC Typhoon and now looking for a new toy.

Looking to buy a Jeep CJ7.

Must be in "close to original" setup so no hot rodded rock crawlers. Engine swap for more modern engine would be OK as well as reasonable lift and bigger tires. Prefer automatic transmission and v8 engine although not important if car is in perfect original condition.

Must be rust and damage free, prefer soft and hard top including doors. Mechanically in excellent condition - same cosmetically.

Wife will use this car as a daily nice weather driver so it has to fit this use.

Prefer cars in reasonable distance (500-1000 miles) from SF as this will be the port we ship out of. I have a good contact in Reno so he can help from there.

Let me know if you have a lead on any
:cheers
Thanks
Anders

Anders,

I'm thinking about selling my Jeep CJ-5 that I've owned for the last 17 years. I've only driven it 6000 miles since I built it. I believe it is the nicest CJ-5 in the world. All stock, original numbers matching 304-2V AMC V-8. Four speed manual, factory tack, factory air conditioning, factory tilt wheel, power steering, power brakes. This Jeep underwent a complete frame off no expenses spared restoration when I purchased it all those years ago. I'm almost embarrassed to say now that the total cost of building this Jeep approached $100,000. Even today, it looks like it just rolled off the factory assembly line. All emissions equipment is installed and operable. Total mileage since frame off restoration is 6000 miles. Send me a PM if you are interested. All the best.

Chip

Chip, I think you might be right in assuming that your CJ5 might be the best one out there.

Decision has been made to concentrate on finding a CJ7 as it´s a little bigger and wifey likes the looks of the CJ7 better.

Thinking about it, I think finding a CJ7 with a V8 and automatic would be best.

Thanks
Anders
