Waiting for the spring sunshine

Well the Forum is still a happy place to be - but I sense a very slight air of boredom, a restlessness amongst the troups.

Not with each other of course, but for many (me included) the GT lies in wait in the garage and there's little to say when it's just sitting there.

I've got no great drives to report, no leaks, rattles, squeaks, thumps, bumps or snake noises.

I've got no new pics.

The beast awaits, Ford Racing coil covers on, valve dust covers on, stone chips repaired, oil filler cover on, Ed's sticker on, transaxle cooler filled (thanks guys for all those bits).

What's happened to Gierkinky? Haven't heard from him for a while.

Ho-hum.

Come on Spring - I'm ready.

:biggrin

I can report my trickle charger went from very warm to touch at first, to cooler, 2 weeks later

I guess thats the sign that it went from full charge gushing to trickle.

I saw a small spider near one of the engine vents on mine on Sunday.

Picked it up, put it outside. No drama really.

Noticed that the GT logo on the wheel centers were aligned - hadn't spotted that before. Happy accident I guess.

I am ready for Spring, have a light sweater on today, my Tommy Bahama spring uniform is ready to be worn. Only 65 degrees today, dropped to 47 last night, need a light blanket.... brrrrrr:lol

37 degrees today in Green Bay... If this keeps up I am going home to get my shorts on, what a heat wave!

Only in Texas

Last Friday 7am Houston Texans practice field kickoff of Fords Truck Month in the Central Region (temp. 27 degrees) Rick Titus came in from Detroit on his way back to his home in California. Picture this practice field is covered in a plastic bubble with Air Condition but NO NO HEAT. Temp in bubble 30 degrees and Boney would have enjoyed the two Texan cheer leaders in their outfits with very little on. Titus could hardly talk he was so cold. His last words were "I'll come back to Texas when its warmer". "I'm out of here". We've seen a lot of him in the last 6 months working for Ford. I did mention our Forum group meeting in Calif. in August and said he would try to meet with us depending on his schedule and the location. Today here its 72 degrees and I can't wait to get the GT out.TH PS. Spring is coming!:thumbsup For you bird hunters this is the last weekend for Quail hunting in S. Texas.:frown

Spring time is coming!

Flashback spring 1963 Dallas, Texas-Green Valley Race Park. This is what Spring is all about. Won't it be fun to get the GT's out from their covers and see if you can get all four wheels off the ground! Only in Texas---God Bless Texas!

Four wheels off The Ground!

Can you tell me who the driver is, who he drove for, what does he do today, and where does he live?:banana

Neil,

To help you pass the time and reminisce about days of sunshine and happiness I thought I’d send along the attached picture below of our two cars sitting side-by-side last summer during a fuel stop on our way to Le Mans. In case you’ve forgotten my car is the faster one on the left with the smaller pulley.

Cheers,

Rob

Neil,

Boredom can really be boring. :bored

Spiders and aligned wheel centers are giving your level of excitement away. :lol

You really do need to get out and go for a drive. :thumbsup

So, just to make you feel a little better :biggrin , I think I will take the Heritage machine out for an exercise session this evening [temps are in the mid 70’s here]. :cool

It really likes running in this type of weather. :thumbsup

KEEP SMILING. :biggrin

Fred

:cheers

Don't make me bring lake pics. The UT women will be out any day now.

I feel your pain, Neil. During a "normal" winter here, I would have been able to get the GT out several times. Currently, its been covered in the garage for over two months due to the snow we've had. I even broke down and plugged in the battery charger. To celebrate having the car for one year, I resorted to admiring it in the garage while smoking a Fuentes X. Shouldn't be long now tho----spring's acomin'!!:biggrin

Great choice of 'gars, however they taste much better in the GT during a spirited drive.

Hey Deak - long time no hear.... :thumbsup

I came out to Boston last year to see Steely Dan and Michael McDonald play - great concert. Flying out first class and staying in a suite at the Harbor Hotel was a moderate extravagance just for a concert. :biggrin but they were worth it.

I now have V8 WMD sorted out on the GT (rather than V12 WMD which was on the Vanquish & Murcielago) - so I might have to give the new number an airing very soon!

Excellent. I'm sure that was money well-spent on the concert. For me, cars and music--it doesn't get any better. Well, actually I can think of one thing but I won't go there on a family forum.:banana
