EDLIFE invited us for a late lunch at his house in Oak Bay on Vancouver Island July 12, 2025
The plan is to take the 12:45 Black Ball ferry out of Port Angeles Saturday. Reservations and passports are required. It arrives in Victoria at 2:15, 20 minutes later we're at Ed's.
There are several hotels to stay at. Ed has room to store vehicles so we can Uber into Victoria but said it's not necessary as Victoria has been relatively non-issue. Once in Victoria there's lots to see and do by foot. We like watching the street performers in the harbor at night.
On Sunday there's a car show in Oak Bay, or you can do a number of other things. Butchart Garden's, Butterfly Museum, Parliament, Tea at the Empress, or just go for a drive.
The trip home is up in the air. I recommend the Tsawwassen Ferry which leaves every hour and drops you off South of Vancouver BC, just North of the border. That makes for a NW Great Loop. If you're not in a hurry home you can drive up to Whistler which is a great drive, or go to the Vancouver Aquarium, Lion's Gate Bridge, Bungee Jumping, zip line, etc.
