At our last rally in North Carolina, Mr. Moose and I stayed an extra week to explore that part of our beautiful country. We put out a queary on the Forum for some suggestions and Mad in NC was a great help at making our extended stay quite an adventure.

It was such a success, we are again fishing for suggestions - we will have several days to explore the area and would love input from our forum brethren - what is a 'must see' in your wonderful state?

I'm next door in Colorado, but we've prowled through miles of great Utah roads and sights on Pantara / Viper / GT outings.

Zion

Bryce

Monument Valley

Arches

Canyonlands

Capitol Reef

Moab is a great little town and relatively convenient to several of these. Monument is a nice small town, might make a nice stopover on the way from Chandler.

Long drive along Virgin River.

All in southern part of state.

Up north, northeast, any drive in the Wasatch mountains. Or even further east toward Colorado and the dinosaur fossils near Vernal.

If your into the speed thing, http://www.utah.com/playgrounds/bonneville_salt.htm. Not sure if you want to drive on it, but pavement leads up to the edge. Don't use your credit card at the nearest gas station either...

Moab area. Go see Arches. First read Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire and go there remembering what it was.

The area around Canyonlands is awesome. Skip the jeeps and mountain bikes and hike it.

If you're into rafting there is the Snake, Green and Salmon.

If you're looking for a real adventure I have a Grand Canyon permit for the first three weeks of August and still have some openings....
