Using everyday - keeping it clean??

Guys,

Looking to buy my GT to use as an everyday car (I have plenty of parking space at my office!).

The question I have is how well the engine compartment is protected from spray and dirt from the rear wheels etc?

In other words - if I use the car in rain (we get a lot of that here) will I end up having to clean down the engine and wipe the inside of the rear clamshell window?....OR ...is it well enough insulated such that water does not enter that area?

Thanks for any feedback.

I've driven quite a bit in the rain, and the inside calmshell has stayed very, very clean; however, I've been doing it at highway speeds, not in town. I've had no fear of doing 80-85 on these tires in the wet. There are some drops that inside the clamshell, but wiping up is very easy. Pay attention when you wash the car. Nothing gets in. The wheelwells are almost sealed and very easy to clean. Remember, this is unidirectional carbon fiber, not some cheap plastic or fiberglass. Don't use high pressure wash though, will get leaks. Your biggest problem will be when you open the doors, they store a little water on top, so your head will get wet. I also put on the Ford Racing seatcovers which are cotton canvas and seem pretty impermeable to the rain that falls on them.
