For anyone interested, or your transaxle fluid change is coming up, I stoped by a Ford dealer today and bought 5 qts. of the correct fluid.

It was on the invoice for 47, sold it to me without asking for a discount for 41 and some change.

I have no idea if that is good or bad, just passing along the numbers.

$41/quart? ASP is ~ $25.

Purchased 6 qts. about 2 months ago. List was $35 and they gave it to me for $31. They did say: they have small margins on fluids and chemicals; price of liquids was rising frequently - surprise!

At the same dealership, at the end of May, I was charged $9.74 per quart of Ford/Motorcraft XO-5W50-QGT engine oil. I've paid this price ever since I bought the FGT in February, 2007.

At the end of August, the charge was $20.74 per quart. Is this believable?

Transaxle Gear Lubricant, XT-75W90-QGT, went from $23.14 per quart to $38.65.
