As I ponder the track use of "my" GT, and compile my want list of track prep items, I have yet to find a good solution for wheels. By good, I mean less than $1k each wheels. I believe I saw somewhere that the backspacing was 50mm on the front and 40mm on the rear(?).
I was hoping for 18" all around to cut the cost down a bit but it appears that the nearly 29" diameter (!?) of the rears will be hard to approach with any less expensive tire. Going with a 305/35 18 Toyo RA1 means only a 26.3" diameter according to the listed spec - over 2.5" smaller. So then you get into speedo recalibration issues and further shifting weight to the rear.
Anyway, I haven't found much by searching but I'm sure this subject has been covered by someone in depth.
Thanks - bb
