Saw this announcement of another Roush of England GT creation:

If the Ford GT wasn’t already exclusive enough, supercar specialist Avro Motor Cars has joined forces with Roush Technologies to create a further strictly limited edition.

The Avro 720 Mirage special edition will be limited to just 10 cars – the first of which has just been rolled out of Roush’s Technical Centre in Brentwood, Essex. Finished in vibrant Arancia Metallica (Italian Metallic Orange) with semi-matt black details and wheels – and exclusive sill plates and side decals, the 720 Mirage incorporates a significant range of engine and mechanical upgrades, including de-restriction, which gives it a top speed capability of 220mph and potential power of 720bhp.

as opposed to this Roush GT

And then there were 9: ROUSH 600RE bites the dust

Supercars and less-than-super drivers can be a dicey situation, as evidenced by the rash of Enzo Ferrari wrecks last year. The Ford GT in standard form definitely qualifies as a supercar, and the ultra-limited 10-car run of modified versions dubbed 600RE by Roush Europe ratchets up the exclusivity even further. Sporting a pulley upgrade and new Tubi exhaust among other things, the 600RE was rated at 612 HP post-modification. That appeared to be too much for the unlucky driver of this 3-day-old Roush 600RE, #3 of 10. That third day was its last, unfortunately, and following a £145,000 insurance payout, the car is being offered as a parts lot on eBay. Someone's going to be able to put together one of the meanest kit cars ever with these leftovers.

so the question I have is where are they getting the cars? Are these us cars that are shipped overseas and converted? Could these be previously wrecked or salvage title cars? or are they 10 of the 101 cars that were shipped over there.

Yeah - i would think they are buying in US and exporting, given that its cheaper to do that (with the USD so weak) than buy locally. Another question is whether or not these cars have miles...i assume they are using delivery mile cars but those are getting scarce (and expensive).

I saw the Avro car earlier this week. Converted by Roush Europe. It's in Lambo orange, with a Whipple, KW suspension, bumper delete etc. It's stunning. and yes, Avro are buying up the last of the immaculate GT's in the US and shipping them over here for European/Middle Eastern/Asian buyers.

One advantage of a weakened USD.

The car will appear in a UK magazine 'Evo' next month.

GT makes for a breadth of fresh air after all those pretentious European supercar brands! Also better looking in my humble British opinion.

that's why I just bought an 06 Heritage car with 40 miles on it.

Welcome Namor!

The orange color with the black is just stunning.
