Out of curiosity I ordered a H.O.T. belt from Grainger to compare to the Ford oil pump belt. It is a Continental ContiTech SilentSync belt part number Y-720. It is described as a 8MM pitch 90 tooth 720 mm length belt. It looks like an exact dimensional fit. The belt does seem to be stiffer than either of my Ford belts dated 2008 and 2010. My wishful thinking it is stiffer because it is at least 6 years newer than the belt I got from Ford last week.
I think the belt can be ordered with different backing material though I just got the stock one. I would be a little concerned that a stiffer belt may not let the tensioner do its job properly. I still have to measure the deflection between this and the stock belt for the tensioner and compare the belt wrap sometime.
At $53.10 it is quite a bit cheaper if the Ford belt gets to be no longer obtainable.
