Progress Update on 2005 Ford GT: As part of the ongoing repair of the GT I have been working on a solution to replace the bent OEM shocks. After months of collaboration with (Eric Saffell) AFCO, a leader in high-performance shock technology, I have successfully completed the design/development phase for a new shock mount. The decision to work with AFCO was driven by the company’s cutting-edge shock technology, which aligns perfectly with the goals of this project: optimizing handling, stability, and overall ride quality. AFCO’s reputation for delivering high-performance, race-tested components made them the ideal partner.
The key focus of this stage was to design a shock mount that integrates seamlessly with the Ford GT’s existing suspension architecture while accommodating the latest shock absorber advancements from AFCO. The mount itself was engineered to handle the increased load and stress of both street and track use, ensuring optimal performance in a variety of driving conditions. The next challenge is to design and fabricate a canister mount for the shock system. This mount will serve a dual purpose: it must be both functional, securing the shock canisters in place, and aesthetically pleasing. The integration of this component is crucial, as it will be visible and must blend seamlessly with the rest of the vehicle. Working with Rich the GT Guy, the shock system will undergo a series of adjustments to fine-tune its performance and ensure optimal balance across the suspension this spring. Hard to believe but the time has finally come to start the body and paint work! So many one off parts to get to this point, from the suspension to the headlights, it is finally time to move to the next phase. Rich has been amazing to work with, this was a parts car without him.

Finally! A fully assembled and tested set of Headlamps. These are NHK Bi-Led's and Morimoto amber led's. Full Plug and play OEM harness. Huge Shout Out to Rich GT Guy for making this happen.
