Considering a Morgan Aeromax or a Wiesmann GT MF5. I know these are different cars altogether. But based upon price I may get one or both. Research has just begun. Wondering if there were any owners who have one or who have any experience with one.

Thanks!

This is probably the answer to the question I posted on your other thread!

They featured the Morgan on Top Gear(USA Version) last night.

yep - it is :biggrin

I missed out on the Aero8 GTN. Not a big fan of the Aero Super Sports. I love everything about this car, looks, performance, uniqueness. I was really looking to go down the Carrera GT path, then I stumbled on these 2 cars & even the Alfa C8. I have enough "fast" cars. I learned with one of the "quick" cars I have that there is more to a car then performance numbers. Or maybe I'm just begining to age enough to a point where all the other "stuff" matters :biggrin

Going out with my wife and not having to shout over all the "performance numbers" is a really, really nice thing. The GT fits that bill but is still heavily biased towards "performance". Love the GT still, but am learning to appreciate other cars with different purposes.

I have to admit watching Top Gear last night, I found myself intrigued by the Morgan. It got a bit dicey(loose front end) at close to top speed, but really why would you need to drive it at that speed? Especially with a Ford GT for that! I think the other thing that appealed to me was a lot hand made with quite a lot of wood. A grew up in England and my Dad and I used to hand build our sail boats in England and after we moved to California, so I think it also represents my English heritage as well.

The AeroMax is a whole different breed. It uses a bonded aluminum frame/chassis like Aston Martin. Aluminum started with the Aero 8 GTN. The new Super Sports (a targa top version of the AeroMax) follows suit with the aluminum frame. Just researching these now. I'm in love with the style and like you said - I already have a GT (and another car much faster than my GT). Looking for style, comfort & cool/wow factor. I'm a car nut. Have been my whole life. I have never seen a Morgan on the road. I've never seen a new one in person at all. I like that. Since they only made 100 AeroMaxs & will only make 100 SuperSports I'm stuck buying used. The black one I'm looking at has a manual trans which most do not. I prefer the quilted interior and the color combo is perfect (especially considering possible resale). Even if it cost $20-30k to drop it at the Morgan factory to be certified for US it would be worth it. If they built 100, there will be less than 25 in the US - now find the color you like. Nothing like shopping for used bespoke automobiles - all you keep thinking is "what whack job picked out these colors!". The standard color combos will always have value to more people. I saw a beautiful black Aston Martin......with orange interrior...nice.... Look at some of the cars from the UAE - OMG!!!!!!!

I agree with the GT MF5 - much higher tech of a car. Love the looks of the Morgan. Any experience with the MF5? I've never seen one in person.

As i know the MF5 is a very rare exotic because less than 100 are produced using the V10 and i guess there are at least only 8 for sale . Does BMW stopped the production of the V10 engine i don´t know ? I guess the few MF5 GT/roadster will cost about 200 000€. best would be checking with Wiesmann directly.
But for that price i would prefer have a ford GT and make some mods just my two cents
