Have any of you had this or similar opportunity?

If so, wondering what your experience was like.

Have all the paperwork and agreement forms which of course, seem to put all the burden of insurance/responsibility on the owner and hold harmless the museum unless outright neglect/damage occurs by them. Car will be displayed behind ropes along with the other cars of similar marque.

They have asked for the car to be delivered this next Monday, so over the weekend will detail it, gas in tank to below 5 gallons, etc.

Excited for the experience, however still feel some level of trepidation about turning the car over to them for several months.

Thanks in advance,

DJ

PS: This is not the FGT.

Good to be asked. I would trust that museum to care of your car well.

But on the other hand it might be best to talk to them about your concerns. And ask then how they have handled claims in the past. Your ins. broker may advise on this also. It can get very technical/complicated.

A friend of mine worked for a jeep store. They loaned a new jeep for a local commercial. Production company had it repaired w/o telling anyone one about it. Became a big issue later on….when damage /repairs became known.

Where is the LeMay museum? Gino is the expert on contracts. He had a thread here on what to look for in contracts and the demands you can make.

Dan, sounds like a good time - just have fun with it. There may be finger prints on your car when you get it back, but I wouldn't expect anything significant.
